Hi I'm James

I'm from Arizona, I love Baseball and Football. I love anything thats outside. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm going to college right now, studing to be a paramedic. I love medical stuff and have no problem with blood so it seems like a good fit. I ran my first half-marathon a few months ago and am currently training to run a full marathon sometime soon.

Why I am a Mormon

I lost my dad in a car accident when i was 5, and i was absolutly crushed. My mom remarried when I was 8. My new step-dad and I became very close. When I was 15 he died of Cancer. At this point I was convinced that God hated me, and didn't want me to be happy in life, or to ever have a dad. I went to church cause my mom made me, but never really belived it. When I was 17 I heard a testimony of one of my friends that made me really think about life again. I decided to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. Heavenly Father answered my prayer though the power of the holy ghost and through the feelings of peace and comfort I recieved I knew that the book of mormon was true. I also knew this was the true church of god and that I needed to act on my faith and return to full activity. After I made this decision my life was blessed. My entire family was happier and closer than we had ever been before. There was a joy that seemed to be missing before, but now was everywhere. I know that because of the decision I made, and the testimony I recieved the lord showed me that he really did care about me and my family and that he really did have a plan for us. Losing both of my dad's was a hardship that made me and my family stronger. We all know that there is a reason for everything, and that though our hardships we are made stronger.

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith by serving as a missionary for the church. I'm in the Colorado Colorado Springs Mission. We got out all day every day to share the gospel with those around us. We do this out of love for all of our brothers and sisters. We know how this gospel has blessed ourselves and our families, and want to share those blessings with everyone.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

A mission is a great experiance for anyone who serves. It in many ways helps the missionary more than anyone else. The greatest growth and change can happen as a missionary as you dedicate a small period of your life to nothing but serving the lord. Leaving everything behind can be tough, but any missionary will tell you it is worth it just to help others. There is a strong expectation that all young men should serve a mission at age 19. However if they choose not to serve, it is their personal choice and they aren't kicked out of the church or anything like that. Every missionary who serves has their own testimony of the gospel or else they would not be able to serve. Show more Show less
