Hi I'm Cameron!

I teach Theatre. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Ogden, Utah. But I had the awesome opportunity to move around quite a bit. I lived in Vermont, Texas, and am currently living in Minnesota. Moving around definitely is tough. It was always disappointing having to change life styles and change friends, but what never did change was the Church. Church was always the same. The people were so welcoming and loving. There was always a lot of unity involved at the churches I attended. In Middle School and High School I, much like many teens, sort of lost myself. I really was not sure who I was or what I really wanted to do in life. There was always something that was very inviting to me, and that was Drama. I love Drama beyond belief. Everyone is so welcoming and always looking forward to meeting new people and new ideas. Theater also is a great way to express yourself, and illustrate your creativity. At first I was solely Acting, but when God gives you talents you have to expound on them; He expects you to find new ones. Through out High school I developed Stage management, and Lighting Design, and ultimately Directing. It was so fun to truly delve into our talents. As I gained my Talent in other areas I could see myself grow in all the rest of them. Some people ask, "Woah Drama? And your Religious too?" It is true that some Theater can get very risky, but I just like everyone can control what they do. If you have a desire to do good, God will always provide a way to use your talents in a righteous way.

Why I am a Mormon

Partly because I was born into the Faith. What a difficult question to ask. "Why I'm a Mormon?" The Answer is simply, because it is True. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is truly Jesus Christ Church on the earth today. Everything that we do is in belief of Jesus Christ. . In Ephesians Chapter Four It talks about How Jesus Christ gave Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers to establish his Church. The Church of Jesus Christ is the only church that is organized with twelve apostles and a Prophet that leads and guides us. And How grateful I am to have a living Prophet on the Earth. The Prophet helps lead and guides me to Jesus Christ in my every day life, and in a Time like today, how much more do we need a living prophet today. Why would God not call a prophet in our day? God loves us, and he has the power to have one! I will be honest there was a time where I did not know of as surety that this church was true. I thought that the church had too many commandments, and "rules," as I called them. It seemed too difficult, and too constraining. What I did not realize is that these commandments are to help me. To strengthen me. To guide me. I think about how Constraining it would be to have an addiction to cigarettes. Or how Difficult it would be a Father at the age of 18. Commandments from God are for our benefit and the benefit of our families. God Loves us. He Wants the absolute best for us, and gives us the opportunity to be happy in this life, through our Families, Prophets, Scriptures, (Believe it or Not) Commandments, and Of course Jesus Christ. Last But Not Least, I am a Mormon because the Doctrine makes sense. It connects every dot. Answers every question. There are far more benefits in the Church despite all the negatives.

How I live my faith

I have a firm belief that if you truly believe in something. You will not have to live it, but that it becomes Who You Are. You Live it through your Actions, your Emotions, your Thoughts, and your Behavior. That is what is so Genius about this Gospel! If you truly believe All of these will be of Jesus Christ. When you get baptized you promise to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. This means that you will represent and live like Jesus Christ would. You live your faith by being a constant example to others. Not because you have to be, but because you Are. This means being kind to everyone no matter whose back is turned. This means caring for those that are mean to you. This means humbling yourself so you can learn from others. This means being patient with the people that can get frustrating at times. This means helping others make good decisions. This means loving them even if they do not make those good decisions. This Means representing Jesus Christ. Now I will admit I am not perfect. Actually I am quite far, but representing Jesus Christ is at least striving to do these things. I live My Faith... By Choosing the Right.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Cameron!
I know that Baptism is a sacred ordinance that we must do to return to Heavenly Father. But most importantly it is one of God's Greatest gift for us. What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Cameron!
God is Perfect. God is full of Justice. When we sin we distance ourselves from Heavenly Father and become unclean. No unclean thing can enter into the presence of heaven. Through Heavenly Father all things are possible, so He created a plan and the Atonement of Jesus Christ is essential. Jesus Christ suffered for us and he payed the price that we would have paid because of our sins and iniquities. No matter how much we sin, the Atonement is infinite. If we but follow his Gospel and come unto him we can utilize the Atonement and be clean so we are worthy to return to our Heavenly Father. Coming unto Christ consists of Faith in the Lord, Repentance, Baptism by Immersion for the Remission of sins, Receiving of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. That is why we must take up sacred Covenants such as Baptism. Baptism however is just the beginning we take other covenants in the Temple. Show more Show less

Cameron!
Missionaries will talk mostly about Jesus Christ. They talk about how God's Church has been restored on the earth today through a living Prophet. The Missionaries will simply put the doctrine on the table. They allow everyone to ponder its teaching and to pray to know From God if this is true. Do not take everything the Missionaries say at face value truth. Go to God for answers through thoughtful and sincere prayer. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Cameron!
The easiest answer is to pray to know if the gospel we share is true. The difficult part is identifying the answer from the Holy Spirit. Sometimes as we pray we will be overcome with a good feeling and that is God testifying to us that it is true. Another way is by being patient. Continuing to read the Book of Mormon, Praying to know it's truthfulness, and Going to services. As you continue to do these three things if it is true we shall see it enrich our lives, increase our Faith in Christ, or/and feel the Holy Spirit more prevalent in your life. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Cameron!
A falling away occurred at the Death of the Apostles. If the Falling away would not have occurred than the Bible itself would be far larger than it is. The writings contained in the end of the New Testament were just documents of Apostles soon after the Death of Christ. If their was no Falling away of the Church, inspired documents would have continued to be produced, and be taken as scripture. The Falling away occurred and revelation was halted. Jesus Christ, gratefully, still loves us. He takes chances on flawed men and call them to do great things, such as the Restoration of the True Gospel of Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was flawed and yet asked to do a great work, to bring the truth back. A Restoration of Revelation needed to occur. Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Cameron!
I do not know about you but I need a Savior every day. In fact, simply asking Why we need a Savior is indeed evidence that we need a Savior. Because to think that we do not need a Savior itself is an act of Pride. Every day I make Mistakes. I am a sinner. Christ and the Atonement he paid can help us Change and become betters. As we live the True Gospel of Jesus Christ we experience peace and love and Forgiveness. The Gospel of Jesus Christ unlocks the opportunity to truly change more and more to be like Jesus Christ himself. Show more Show less

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

Cameron!
The Book of Mormon's emphasis and Doctrine go hand in hand with the Bible. The Bible can be interpreted in many different ways. The Book of Mormon occurred in a totally different Continent but at the same time as the Bible. One of the Main purposes for the Book of Mormon was to help people understand the True and Proper interpretation of the Bible. Also, the Book of Mormon was given to Joseph Smith to Translate by the Power of God as convincing evidence that Joseph Smith was indeed a Prophet of the Almighty God. The great thing about the Bible as well as the Book of Mormon is they are either True or they are not. They are either Inspired words to Prophets directly from God, or they are Historical records that were flawed and lies. The Only way you can know if anything is True (Bible or Book of Mormon) is the Power of The Holy Spirit as you read and pray and internalized their message. This does take time, but is the most rewarding thing to truly Know something, rather than simply hoping. Show more Show less

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Cameron!
Receiving Bodies is one of the great many reasons why we are on this earth today. They Are divine objects, that house our Spirits. After Resurrection we become forever bound by our Bodies. God wants us to take care of our Body. In the Old Testament, there were many rules and Regulations that God knew would help us keep our bodies safe. Unfortunately those rules become too specific over time and left for men to interpret them and force their interpretation on others. Christ Came to the Earth and Refocused on the Basics of Faith and Repentance in his name. In this day, Christ has chosen to once again help us keep our bodies safe. He gives us the Word of Wisdom. And although when the Word of Wisdom was revealed it was not officially a Commandment. Later prophets have decided that the Word of Wisdom is a Commandment from God. The Word of Wisdom has been interpreted many ways, but the Prophets have decided that abstaining from Alcohol, Coffee, Black & Green Tea, Tobacco, and Illegal Drugs are against the Word of Wisdom. Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Cameron!
Women do not hold the priesthood because the Lord has put it that way. It is part of His program. Women have a very prominent place in this Church. Men hold the priesthood offices of the Church. But women have a tremendous place in this Church. They have their own organization. It was started in 1842 by the Prophet Joseph Smith, called the Relief Society, because its initial purpose was to administer help to those in need. It has grown to be, I think, the largest women’s organization in the world... They have their own offices, their own presidency, their own board. That reaches down to the smallest unit of the Church everywhere in the world. Women, are given a great responsibility in the Church. Behind every good Priesthood Holder is an even better Wife. Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Cameron!
Why do we proselyte is an interesting question. I am not sure we would if people were regularly visiting our churches or Members of our church shared the gospel more actively. We proselyte because there are many people that do not have friends in the Church or have bad misconceptions toward the church. We Proselyte as a way to help people understand the truthfulness of our message. Missionaries answer questions, pray with people, and do simple things like service. We are far from perfect, but the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings people to a stronger faith and peace in this life, and that is worth going out of our way to spread the Gospel. Show more Show less

This question has been a question in human History for a very long time. I am grateful I understand the Purpose. I know that We are Children of God. We existed before we were on the earth as Spirit Children. We dwelt with Heavenly Father. He knew that we needed to Progress in our Existence. In order to Truly progress, we needed to be separated from him, and take up a Body. We have always Free will. We come to this earth and learn from Experience what is Good and what is Evil. We learn by making mistakes. We also come to this Earth in Families. We enter this world not with a Manual but a Mother. We enter this world not with Money, but with a Father who provides. I know that Jesus Christ allows us to Return to our Heavenly Father. With True Experience, and also a Perfected body in Families with an even greater devotion to the God who gave us Life. Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Cameron!
We must be baptized by someone who has the Authority. Men receive that authority through someone who already has that specific authority. We do not claim Authority from simply reading and preaching from the Bible or the Book of Mormon. We claim authority because Peter, James, and John (The resurrected apostles) appeared to the Prophet Joseph Smith. Laid their hands upon the irregular size Joseph Smith Head and gave him the Priesthood. Through this sacred event, all of the Priesthood within in the Church of Jesus Christ can be traced. With out it there can not be Saving ordinances Properly performed. Show more Show less
