Hi I'm David

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Ogden. I love to make movies, creative stories, and to just entertain people in general.

About Me

I've always liked to make people happy by telling jokes, stories, and making short movies. I hope to maybe take my career path in the direction of making movies that will entertain families. I also like to teach children. I've worked at a few different scout camps for the Boy Scouts of America, teaching many different subjects to the boys. If the whole movie thing doesn't work out, I'd also love to be a school teacher in English or music. I'm an eagle scout, and love to give service... again, making people happy... I'm currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Ghana Accra Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, and raised in the church. Though, there were times where i really wished i didn't have to go to church on Sundays. I was baptized when i was 8 years old. I don't remember any of the teachings i learned before, or much about that day, but i still, to this day, remember the warm feeling that washed over me. The confirmation that what I had done was His will. Later as a boy scout, I lost my new, expensive glasses in the camp's lake. At the bottom of the lake was about a foot of muck for it to sink into. My troop, total strangers and I searched all day for it in the spot that i jumped in, with no luck. I remembered that when we needed help, we should pray. So I prayed more than I ever did before to find them. When day became night, and we were making our last search efforts, a still, small voice whispered to my mind that I should search in a different place. I walked about 15 ft out, dove down, grabbed an armful of muck, and when i came up, i noticed my glasses on top of the muck. The influence of the Holy Spirit in my life has blessed me so much in my life, whether it was through revelation of gospel truths, warnings, or just giving me comfort in a time when i though i could receive no comfort. I'm a Mormon because my Father in Heaven has revealed it time and time again to me, through His Holy Spirit, that the church is true. Me serving a mission for His church has made me all the more firm in His gospel. I've met many wise pastors and other church leaders, people who have gone to bible school, who have tried to confound the church. But through His Holy Spirit guiding our words, truth prevails. I know the church is true, and i know that God lives, as does His Son, Jesus Christ. I know that God called Joseph Smith to be a prophet, to restore the fulness of the truth with the power of God. I know the Book of Mormon is true, and that God gave it to us in these latter times to help us in our daily lives.

How I live my faith

Right now, I'm serving as a missionary in Ghana. I'll finish in October 2011. I live my faith by studying the scriptures every morning while praying to understand them. Though I'm often tempted to do things that are contrary to the gospel, I stand firm in the faith. I don't know what callings may come when i finish my mission, or what things my Father in Heaven has in mind for me, but whatever He calls me to do, I'll go and do it, for I know, because I've seen, that the Lord prepares a way for all of us to follow Him.
