Hi I'm Sharon

I live in Texas, I am a mother of 4 active boys, a wife, a neighbor, a friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a small town in Utah and am the 9th child of 10, I loved being part of my big family. We lived on a small farm and I learned to love all things outdoors, I spent a lot of time playing in the mud, fishing, and catching all kinds of little critters. After high school I attended Weber State University and graduated with a bachelors in Biology and a teaching certificate. I taught 7th grade science for nearly 4 years. I married my husband in 1998 and we have 4 boys ages 11, 8, 5, and 4. I love being a mom of 4 busy boys and I love spending time with my family. Some other things I love are cooking (and eating), gardening, bicycling, and taking my boys fishing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and have many pioneer ancestors on both sides of my family. The gospel was a way of life for our family and from a very young age I watched my parents serve, love, work hard, and stay true to the testimony they bore. I experienced the fruits of their faith as a child and seeing their good example made me desire to cultivate my own faith. My own testimony has come line upon line and bit by bit as I have followed those things I had been taught from a young age. I have felt many times in my life the peace, protection, and safety that comes through obedience and I have come to understand that God is mindful of me, I have felt his love often, especially as I read, study, ponder, and pray over his words. I am so grateful for the many sacrafices, and the faith of my ancestors and my parents, so that I can have the blessings of the gospel and enjoy the fruits of the spirit in my own life. I do not do everything perfectly, I cannot, no matter how hard I try, but through the saving grace of Jesus Christ and the miracle of repentance I know my offerings are accepted. All I can do is press forward the best I can and learn from my mistakes. Jesus Christ is the only name given under heaven whreby salvation may come to the children of men. I feel as Peter when Jesus asked the twelve "Will ye also go away" - Peter responded "Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words or eternal life." I have been so blessed to be a part of this work and this gospel and to hand it to the next generation.

How I live my faith

In the Book of Mormon, Jesus tells the people "Therefore, hold up your light that it may shine unto the world. Behold I am the light which ye shall hold up - that which ye have seen me do." (3 Nephi 18:24) I live my faith by following the example of Jesus Christ in serving and loving others. I am truly learning when we lose ourselves in serving and are willing to give up our own selfish or self-serving desires to help other, we find the life that God wants for us. A life filled with His love. We have so many opportunities around us, in our church, our neighborhood, our community, and most importantly in our families. It takes effort, but if we have a sincere desire and we put serving and loving in to practice, it will become a part of us and change who we are. When we love and serve others, it is not just what we are doing that is important, but what we are becoming. I am grateful for the perfect example of love in my Savior, and as we fill our hearts and souls with that love, we can reach out to others so they may know who to look to for redemption.
