Hi I'm Nick Gochnour

I'm a Twin, I love the World!! And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just got back from serving a mission in the Alpine German-Speaking Mission. I love learning more about the gospel for myself every single day, and I love the feeling I feel when I can share something that is so close to me to everyone around me.I love learning, especially about histoy and cultures. I love learning about the world, it's an amazing place. I love to read. I love to travel, whether it be my city, or the world. Every place has something cool and interesting. The world is such a beautiful place to live in. I love seeing God working throughout the world at all times. Every place is beautiful. I have a passion for photography, anything beautiful, and love to play and watch all sports. I love exercising, and feeling fit. I love spending time with friends and family and my twin brother who is my best friend. My family, who is very important to me, recently became a family who will be forever together, by being sealed together on 11/11/11.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a Mormon my whole life but was not raised to it's highest standards. My mom was only baptized in 2010. My Dad was a member his whole life so I went to church and was taught the gospel through that connection. Most of what I've learned about the church has come from church and I only truly started to understand it when I was a Junior in High School. We were given the task of reading the Book of Mormon, something I'd tried once or twice but never completed. This time I was able to stay focused and began to love what I was reading. The next step in my conversion process came when I was a freshman in college, my Institute classes really changed how I viewed the gospel. Where before it was part of my life on Sundays and a couple minutes each night, now I thought about the gospel and my testimony much more frequently. That doesn't mean I never have any problems with my testimony, but the way I feel when I read the scriptures when I hear truly uplifting talks and testimonies, when I'm doing something good. That feeling always trumps the doubts I may have. Another thing that solidifies my testimony of the gospel is the power of prayer. I see my prayers answered all the time. I wish I could write about all that are answered but there are far to many. Simple things, though they may be, an answer to something like calming your fears at certain times, any answer really helps solidify my testimony and has helped me become who I am today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being worthy to hold the priesthood, and sharing the gospel with all that ask. "I'm trying to be like Jesus in all that I do and say." I'm serving my Lord at this moment, and I'm learning that the most things to do in this life is to think about more than yourself, love everyone, and don't judge. Living the gospel is a never ending path of learning and enlightenment. I learn more and more everyday. Each day I'm refreshed by the wonderful things I learn from the Book of Mormon, Bible, and the current prophets.
