Hi I'm Lea

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work full time outside of the home. I have three grown children, the seven most amazing, beautiful grandchildren and a wonderful husband of over 33 years. I love to travel. As the wife of a retired soldier, I have lived in Germany and was so privileged to be able to travel through out Europe. I love history; especially American. I feel honored to have been born in the United States. I battle with Fibromyalgia on a daily basis; most days I win! My favorite activities include my family. My husband and I are involved in 9-12 Group in our town. (You remember how after 9/11/2001 everyone came together to help others?) We believe that we should live everyday like that! So we are committed to helping our neighbors be prepared for anything that may happen in our area! I love food especially Italian, German and almost anything chocolate! I love the color purple because as a daughter of God, I am royal.

Why I am a Mormon

I always had known that my Father in Heaven loved me and that he sent His Son to die for me. I don't know when I learned this; but it has always been in my heart. I visited many churches as a youth. I joined the Church as a teen. I had been very active in another uplifting religion but had a hard time understanding why the youth of my church were so often the first ones to forget their beliefs when others were around. I wanted a church that centered my life so every day was like Sunday to me. A friend introduced me to the Missionaries of the Church and I started taking the lessons. I felt the Spirit as I read the Book of Mormon and it made sense to me in my head as well as my heart. As the many years have past, I only find that my knowledge has grown with me. I am so thankful for the missionary program. I know that I am a daughter of God. This time on earth is just a split second in eternity and I want to make decisions that will matter for eternity.

How I live my faith

In the past, I have taught the Sunday School lessons to those who don't know much about my beliefs. I have also loved working with the other women at church. It is comforting to know that others share the challenges with me of working and raising a family. My family donates our time and resources to a non denominational Christian center that provides food, shelter and education to homeless men and women.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

What a great question especially now! The answer is a definitive NO. The Church makes public statements often regarding our responsibility to study and learn all we can about issues, platforms, parties and candidates. As I try to follow my Savior in my life, I try to vote in ways that He would have me to. Show more Show less
