Hi I'm Shane Hartman

I'm a mormon

About Me

I grew up in Washington in an awesome family surrounded by great friends. I'm an avid water skier and a bit of a gear-head (I like to tinker, especially on my boat and mini-motorcycles). I like to fly fish and want to try hunting elk sometime. I'm married to an amazing girl and we have three kids. I went to college and got a masters in accounting and work at a consulting firm.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true, and because I know the book of Mormon is true. I grew up in a safe, loving home where principles of the gospel were taught and demonstrated. Given that example, when I reached my teenage years, I wanted to know for myself if the gospel of Christ was true. By reading the Boook of Mormon, I came to know the gospel is true and that knowledge has made all the difference in my life. I served a mission to share that message with others, which helped me to grow in my own understanding and conviction, and now I'm raising my children after the manner I was raised. The church has always been an anchor for me in a world of constant change, somewhere where I can find peace, safety, assurance, and love.

How I live my faith

I work with the young men in the church. We have a Varsity Scout troop as part of the youth program and we organize weekly activities as well as monthly campouts and special activities with the young women in the church. Sometimes it's challenging to find the time with my work schedule, and family commitments, but it's very rewarding to spend time with the youth, and I find that I'm always energized by my associations with them.
