Hi I'm Justin

I'm going to make a difference in the world and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My story in pretty cliche. I grew up in an incredible family with loving parents and 3 younger siblings. Our family loves sports. No matter where we go or what we do we always have something going on with sports. I'm in a transitional stage of my life right now. I am 20 years old and currently part way through some volunteer work for the church. After my current service is over I plan on returning to college to pursue a degree in Biology/Anatomy and Chinese. My life story is probably somewhat typical of that of a young man who grew up in southern Utah. I was very involved in high school and loved every minute of it. I played football, basketball, baseball and even dabbled in some track and field during my four years. I really have been so blessed throughout my life. I had so many great experiences playing sports and also many great experiences serving on my high school's Executive Council. My dream is travel the world. During my service for the church I was taught to speak Mandarin Chinese(my father also speaks Mandarin). I would love more than anything to experience the adventure of International Trade or Global Humanitarian Projects.

Why I am a Mormon

I have come to know for myself that Jesus Christ is the Savior of all the world. Anyone who will humble themselves and follow Him can have Eternal Life. I came to know this by the influence of the Holy Spirit. The way we follow Christ is by getting baptized and that must be done by authorized servants of Jesus Christ and by the same Power that led me to know that Jesus did what He said He did I have come to know that there are men on earth authorized to perform baptisms and they are found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to become more like Jesus everyday. I try to love as He did. I strive to be kind to all those I interact with. I provide service and help other understand the purpose of life. I keep the promises that I've made with God and do everything I can to obey Him so that I can have more guidance from His Spirit in my daily life.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Everyone must be baptized to live in the presence of God after this life. Many people don't get the opportunity to accept Christ's gospel and be baptized during their short sojurn on Earth. In God's mercy He has made it possible that all of His children, us, will have the chance to enjoy the blessings that come from making promises with God even if one has never heard the name "Jesus" during his or her life. Some say this is a crazy doctrine but Paul had no complaint in the New Testament (see 1 Corinthians 15). This is also a fulfillment of Elijah's prophecy that the hearts of fathers would turn to their children and the children to the fathers. Show more Show less
