Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon...." latter day saint" .. because in my own words, " I finally found truth". I had always wondered, not actually believed in, but wondered if there was a God and how I got here. During my youth I was brought to just about every church in our city, giving me a real diverse look at religion. I am somewhat bewildered knowing people say we are not Christians...the very title of our church explains otherwize. Many church's I attended taught as if prophets were a thing of the past . It wasn't until I was 21, did I finally have 2 young Mormon Missionaries introduce me to the church. After knowing that all church's believed in Prophets but never had any of their own, the knowledge of CURRENT prophets excited me.....during the first meeting I jump to my feet and shouted to them both with finger in air......" thats it!, that is it!" Having the Gosple in my life has changed me considerably. Starting out as fatherless ,homeless and a street kid never knowing what to believe in, I have come to realize my purpose on this earth and was able to give my children a more inriched life . Not walking through life blindly has given me hope of an eternal reward far exceeding my imagination..I bear my testimony that this church is true, that God lives. That he isnt just a nebulous floating idea, and that jesus is the Christ our savior and redeemer, and that we DO still have prophets and through this church man may reach for the stars, what might otherwize be just a view. if one believes in the Bible, dont dissect it, but embrace it all. Even tho the members are not perfect, the church is.

How I live my faith

My membership has not taken me to many callings as I traveled alot . I did how ever serve as a teacher with the children and young women for a time, as well as with the Women on the Island of Guam as Homemaking leader. I helped organize a program for rollerskaing for the families in one area in Ny where we all got to know each other better. Once I obtained a computer I began teaching Muslims on line. Teaching every morning from 7 am til 10 am about 3-400 islamic individuals during that span and enjoyed it tremendously. I was honored to receive pictures on line of one student receiving baptism. While others are still waiting in islamic cities for the church to make its appearance. I live my faith by practicing what the church teaches....I try to be fair and respectful of others....keeping the sabbath day holy and trying to be a good example
