Hi I'm David

I'm a husband and father of three beautiful children. I love to camp, play sports, travel, and ride motorcycles, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a happily married man of eight years and have three beautiful children. A seven year old girl, five year old boy, and two year old girl. I've struggled to obtain an education, but achieved success in leaving a heritage to my children of hard work attaining a Bachelor's in Accounting and a MBA. I moved to Bagdad with my family to pursue my career with a great company. We love to travel, visit family, camp, play sports, and observe the beauties of the world (even from my backyard). Thanks to my wife, I've become a more balanced person and continuously seek to better my self. We live in a good community and have great friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My father died in a car accident at age forty-eight. This tragedy caused much reflection in my life. I was only twenty years of age then. As I realized that life was very short to waste in worldly pleasures, I read the Book of Mormon and prayed for God to let me know if it was truly from him. At first I wanted to satisfy my curiosity, but in time and only when I was willing to follow his direction, he answered my prayer. He spoke to my heart and as real as the air I breath I knew with certainty that this book was written by prophets under the direction of Christ in old days. I've had many experiences where the spirit of God has testified to me of the truthfulness of this restored gospel; but the greatest of all was when I was praying and while meditating about my Savior and how he could have been the only being that could atone for our sins and save us, when his spirit spoke to my heart and mind and as clear as day I knew with a perfect knowledge that he is my Savior.

How I live my faith

I've served as a missionary in the Lansing, Michigan mission Spanish speaking. I've served as Young Men's President, Branch Clerk, Second Counselor to the Branch President, teacher for Temple Preparation classes, and I'm currently the Bagdad's Ward Mission Leader. We have two great missionaries assigned to our ward, who help and gives us support in bringing our neighbors and friends to the knowledge of the restored gospel. I meet with priesthood leaders and other auxiliary leaders to coordinate the missionary effort in our area. I attend regularly to our Sunday meetings and to potlucks after church. I engage in community service helping others in and out of our church organization. I support my wife in her calling with the Young Women. I love to teach my children in Family Home Evening. Even though far from perfect, I strive to live my life in accordance to my Heavenly Father's will and not my own. I love him and look forward to the day when I'm called back to his presence knowing that I've fought a good fight.
