Hi I'm Belinda

I converted to the LDS church when I was 18. I am mother of 2 adopted girls and I am married to my best friend. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a mom of 2 adopted girls. We became parents in 2 days! I love to laugh, spend time with my family, read, sew/craft, dance, coupon/shop, and take pictures. I have been married to my best friend for over 11 years and he is still the love of my life. We have supported each other all the way through two master's programs, one for him and one for me.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I went with several of my friends to activities at the LDS church. I learned the basic principles and knew they were true. I was raised Southern Baptist and always had a hard time believing that God and Jesus Christ were the same person. This is what originally sparked my interest, knowing that the LDS faith believes that God and Jesus Christ are separate individuals. I also loved the fact that the LDS church frowns upon drinking, as I grew up in a home with a father who drank. As I matured and studied I realized that I felt the most at peace when I was within the walls of an LDS church. When I turned 18 I decided to get baptized. It has been the best decision that I have ever made. I love the tight network that is found within the church. Wherever you live you have instant friends that have the same values as you do. You can turn to them for support. It wonderful to be able to return that support as well. Service is one of God's greatest blessings for us.

How I live my faith

One of the ways that I learned about the LDS church was going to Young Women's Camp. This is a camp in which 12-18 year old girls can attend during the summer. They get to spend time away from their families to learn to be independent, to survive in the wilderness, have fun, and most importantly they get to be spiritually feed everyday! I have gotten to be a leader within this summer camp several times. I enjoy being able to assist them in making camp fires and then reading scriptures around those fires. I love the physical warmth that the fire brings and inner warmth that the spirit brings as we gaze upward into the heavens when we read in the wilderness.
