Hi I'm Sara

I'm a swimmer. I've ran 4 half marathons. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I swim on a high school swim team, I play the piano, and I ski. I want to go to BYU Hawaii for 2 years and learn how to surf while I'm college and then go to BYU Provo for the next 2 years. The profession I want is language. I want to learn French, Spanish, Russian, and Italian. I had a goal this last summer and finished it: I lost 35 pounds.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and grew up with the gospel, don’t really know the difference. There was a time in my life when I didn’t use the gospel to the best I could and wasn’t happy. I didn’t really realize it though. Then I went to a youth camp called EFY (Especially For Youth) and the feeling was amazing there. I have never felt so good in my life! I refused to let that feeling leave so - as best I could – I mimicked what we did at EFY and I have learned and grew so much just by reading my scriptures and praying every day. It’s amazing how the small and simple things really change your life.

How I live my faith

I go to church ever y week for the full 3 hours and mutual (youth group). I attend all the firesides (meetings after church that go on once a month). I go to all the service activities we have and as my calling (responsibility) in church I am president of the girls who are 14 – 16 years of age. I make sure mutual runs smoothly and that every one I’m in charge of are okay.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

I like to think of it as a world. You have the whole world; this represents global representatives, like the prophet and the apostles. A stake is like the continents. Wards are the countries and branches are like the states or provinces. Families are like the cities. Show more Show less
