Hi I'm Bob

I'm a hard worker, a dedicated father, a devoted husband, I love sports and reading, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a convert to the church, baptized on July 3rd, 1982. I chose to serve a mission and was called in August of 1983 to serve among the people of Hong Kong. I obtained a degree in Finance after my mission and spent several years in banking. Now, I run a small business. I enjoy sports such as basketball, football, and racquetball. I like to read non-fiction especially about American history and religion. I am always looking for a reason to go out for dinner. I belong to a great family full of good people.

Why I am a Mormon

I converted to the church because I felt the spirit that it was true and it made sense. The Plan of Salvation taught by the church made sense. It gave purpose to life. As a Baptist, I took each doctrine separately and could understand their position and reasoning. However, when you started putting all the doctrine together it was an opened door to endless questions. Some of the questions that I had: Is God just and what is the plan for those that lived in a time or place that had not heard of Jesus Christ? If there is a person that does not know Christ but lives more like a christian than those that have accepted Christ as their personal savior then where is the justice for the person living a Christlike life? What is being saved? Is it being resurrected? Is it being with heavenly father? What do we do in heaven? What is heavenly father like? Why do marriages end with until death do they part? Does everyone receive the same heavenly reward or is it differnet for each person based on their actions? The list could go on and on. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I found those answers. I understood the plan and it made sense and it was simple. It did not include the mysterious descriptions and interpretations of men like he is neither here nor there but everywhere. It was so plain, simple and beautiful that I knew it came from God. I studied a great deal, asked lots of questions, and sought my ultimate answer in prayer. I felt the promptings of the spirit bearing testimony that the Plan of Salvation was true and thus my prayer and questions were answered.

How I live my faith

I try to stay close to the Lord. I spend time in the scriptures each day. I approach my Heavenly Father in prayer each day. I try to live my faith by being good to others, giving a helping hand, offering a listening ear, and praying for those that stand in need. I seek the promptings of the spirit to guide and direct my life and to assist with some life's more difficult questions. I renew my coventants with the Lord each week to always remember the atoning sacrifice that was made on my behalf, I strive to keep the commandments that I may always have his spirit to be with me. I try to always remember the Lord and to recognize the source of the blessings that we enjoy, and to show sincere gratitude for those blessings in humble prayer to my Heavenly Father.
