Hi I'm Trent

I grew up in Denver, Colorado, I have two young children, I love to ski, keep bees and work with wood, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Living at the base of the Rocky Mountains provides many wonderful opportunities. I am the father of two young children, a husband to an incredible wife and the manager at a local bank branch. When not working I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family gardening, taking care of our four beehives, skiing, camping, you name it. I am also an avid woodworker. I love to build furniture and other useful things. Well I think they are useful anyway!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I had incredible friends that shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with me when I was in high school. As a teen I seemed to bounce from social group to social group not really feeling like I fit in completely with any one particular group. I had very close friends that were members of the LDS Church and they always invited me to activities, seminary and church meetings. The more time I spent around my Mormon friends the more I realized that I felt differently when I was with them. I started to ask questions about what they believed and the more I learned the more I came to realize that what they were telling me was true. I read The Book of Mormon specifically in Moroni 10:3-5. Within those versus is given a promise that if you read The Book of Mormon with a sincere heart, wanting to know if it is true, and then you think about what you have read and finally ask God in prayer if it is true He will let you know. I did just as was suggested and read, thought about it and prayed. I felt a very strong confirmation, when I prayed, that The Book of Mormon was true. I then approached my parents and asked them if I could be baptized. After much discussion they agreed. At 17 years old I was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Since that time if have done my best to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I served a full-time mission at the age of 20 in the Washington D.C. area. After the mission I married my best friend and five years later we welcomed our first son. We now have two sons. Seeing them grow in the gospel and learn of Jesus Christ has brought so much joy and happiness into my life. I know that we are a stronger family because of our church membership and attendance. I know that the teachings of Jesus Christ have helped us to overcome challenges and difficulties in our lives and helped us to become better people.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many different ways. One of my favorite ways is through service. Nothing feels better then helping out those in need. As a Boy Scout leader I have been able to influence young men to strive to be the best they can be. I have had the opportunity to teach them the basics of the gospel. I currently help members of my ward to learn provident living through the storage of food in the case of emergencies, how to have a garden, how to budget and many other things that can help to save money while meeting the basic needs of life. I love going to Church each Sunday to see other members, to fellowship, and to enjoy the feelings of the Spirit.
