Hi I'm Kristen

I grew up in CA. I love to be active. My family means everything to me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Northern California. I currently live in Arizona. I don't mind the heat because I much rather be hot than cold. I have an awesome husband and 4 amazing kids that I feel so blessed and honored to call my own. I love anything that involves the outdoors and my family. I hate to go anywhere without my family. We love camping, going to the lake, playing at the park. Growing up I was an athlete and continue to enjoy running, biking, and swimming. I love triathlons and think that everyone should do one sometime in their life. I enjoy sewing. I like challenging myself by creating or doing things that I normally would think I couldn't. I LOVE garage sale shopping. I love turning someones "junk" into a treasure.I love to surf. I love to ride my beach cruiser around the neighborhood with my husband and kids. I like to feel productive, but I always try to decide what is good, better, and best. Thanks to my husband I have learned to say, "No" sometimes. (but not often) I postponed Nursing School to raise my kids and be a full-time Mom. It was the hardest, but best decision I ever made. My goal is to go back and finish school as soon as my youngest is in 1st grade. I love to help others. And my dream is to be an RN someday. I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe families are forever. Because I believe it is the means to have peace and joy in this life. Because It gives answers to my purpose in life. I was born into a loving home with parents who did their very best to teach me how to be truly happy in this life and after. I was always impressed with the way that my parents accepted anyone, judged no one, and loved everyone. They taught me to look at people as the Savior would - with compassion and love. They taught me how to feel the spirit and discern right from wrong. They taught me that in order to return to live with our Heavenly Father again I needed to gain my own testimony and work each day to help it grow. I learned at an early age the strength and power of simple faith and prayer, and the miracles that can come from excercising them. When I was young I felt strongly that if there was a true church then anyone in the world should be able to learn about it's principles, anyone should be able to join it. My sister served a mission in Japan. My Dad served in the Netherlands. My husband served in Mexico. I am so grateful that ANYONE can learn about God's true church. I want everyone to know the happiness, peace, and true joy that comes from being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know I wouldn't be who I am today without the gospel. I have had many trials just like anyone else. I am not perfect. But the gospel is. Our Savior is. He is always there for us. I've felt it. I know it. It's true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day in the little decisions like deciding to dress modestly, what kind of music I listen to in the car, how I talk to my children, and the t.v. shows I watch. And the bigger things like money management, time management, how I treat others. My faith is my life. It sustains me. I couldn't make it thru a day without it. Some days are better than others, but that's life and that's when my faith is strengthened. I send my kids off to school often telling them to "Be a good friend." "Look for a chance to help someone." I want them to learn to step out from the crowd if it means choosing what's good and right. I want my kids to learn that it's okay to be different. I enjoy when people ask me why I'm always so happy and have so much energy even with 4 kids? My favorite is when I am in a store with my 4 kids all under the age of 7 and people look at me like I'm crazy and tell me that I've got my hands full. I always reply, "I wouldn't trade it for anything!" I am actively involved in our Elementary School's PTSO. I love rubbing shoulders with so many good people that have the same focus...their children. I have served on our neighborhood HOA, have participated in Relay for Life, and am always looking for opportunities to support and serve others. I also look forward to each Sunday when my husband and I get the opportunity to team teach a class of 10 year olds. I love serving in the church! And each time I am released from a church calling I feel an empty space inside of me until I am asked to serve somewhere else. I truly believe that when you are going thru a trial or hardship, your burdens can be lightened when you give service.
