Hi I'm Megan

I love outdoor adventures, chemistry, am a missionary and I'm a Mormon!!!

About Me

Hello!!! Everything in my life has now led to me serving as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm the oldest of three kids and growing up I loved softball, swimming, playing the bari sax, and learning all that I could!!! Some of my favorite memories in high school were going to high school football games, swim meets, and the high light was performing at Carnegie Hall my senior year! Before I became a missionary I attended college for a year and am studying Chemistry and Physical Science. I hope to teach high school sciences and coach sports! When I'm not working or doing school, I loved to spend time with my family playing card games or up at our cabin innertubing and playing in the water! I decided to become a missionary because of the principle in 2nd Nephi 5- "They lived after the manner of happiness." My life has not been easy- my Dad was unemployed for several years, my best friend was diagnosed with cancer my sophomore year of high school, and my little sister has a serious auto immune disorder. But as I began to think about this chapter of scripture, I realized it was only through the Gospel of Jesus Christ that I was able to be happy through everything in my life. I want to help other people realize and have access to this happiness. After my mission I want to come home, get married and start a family, finish college and then see where life takes me!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon, as were both my parents. As a child I went to church because that is what our family did, and I didn't mind it because my friends were there. But as a teenager it has developed into my choice. I continue to follow the teachings, standards, and keep my faith because I know it is true. I have come to find out for myself whats right and wrong, and gain my own testimony. I am a Mormon because being a Mormon is fun! I have a wonderful group of friends my own age that believe the same things, I have tons of adult leaders that help me with anything and are my cheerleaders, and I have a wonderful family. I am Mormon because I know it is the right thing.

How I live my faith

I live my faith simply just how I live. I strive to use the abilities and talents to help others, seek guidance in my actions from my Heavenly Father, and be obedient to the commandments. Right now I am serving as a missionary, I am leaving my life, my friends, my boyfriend, school, and family and other things such as cellphones and movies to serve my Heavenly Father and His children for the 18 months of my life. I am going to go spread His word and His happiness to all the people in Argentina! And I am so excited to do it! I live each day right now solely for that purpose. My God is my strength and my support. I live my faith my loving those around me. I love my family. A LOT! They are the greatest blessing I have. I do my best to be an example to my little siblings. I serve those around me. Prior to my mission I served in different leadership positions at church and at school and coached little league! What I like to think is that my attitude reflects my faith. Even when time are hard I choose to be happy because of the knowledge I have. It gives me a bigger picture and I am able to live each day with hope and happiness despite the challenges around me! I live this way because it brings blessings! It makes me happy! It brings joy and peace to my life! :)

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Family is so important to us because we believe that the family is the central unit, the pivotal and most integral part of the Lord's plan. Having a Mom, Dad, and children is a divine organization that is designed to help each member return back to their Heavenly Father. When a family is founded upon the teachings of Jesus Christ the individual members become more united and we are able to learn. We believe that families are eternal. We will be together forever and that when all else fails, we still have family. Because of this we need our families and home to be strong, happy, safe, and loving. They are shelters from the world that help us each and every day. Show more Show less
