Hi I'm Edie

I'm a great cook, I'm the wife of a Special Agent, I have a multi-racial family, I love God and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a broken home, where life wasn't always easy, and you worked for what you got. Sometimes I wish children these days could feel what it is like to go without immediate gratification and the satisfaction that comes from budgeting or working hard for something. My mom taught me how to work, and to love the Lord. Those are two of the greatest things I still cherish today. I love a clean house...It keeps me feeling mentally uncluttered. I love to try new and unusual foods. I have eaten sea urchins, Rocky-Mountain Oysters, raw oysters, alligator, and durian, (a fruit that smells like rotten feet). I love anchovies, salmon caviar, sushi, Lebanese rice pudding, and Bestella (Moroccan spiced lamb wrapped in phyllo). I LOVE live music and acoustic guitars, piano and theater performances. I do none of these things myself, but I like to watch people do their thing. Lucky for me I have a son who plays guitar and a son in theater. I love to travel and I like moving. Our family has lived all over America and we have friends scattered across this nation. We lived in Washington, D.C. when September 11 happened and vacationed in New York staying at the World Trade Center Marriott just a few weeks before 9/11. I have enjoyed and found great satisfaction being a "Stay-at-Home" mom and raising my children with the companionship of a wonderful husband and best friend.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because God changed my life. I am a Mormon because everything in Christ's church in the New Testament exists in this Church today: temples, apostles, a living prophet, the priesthood, modern-day revelation, healings and miracles. For me, that makes sense. I love the thought that God loves all of His children from Adam to Moses to Noah to now. He spoke to each of those prophets for the benefit of His children in each of their time's, why not now? I am a Mormon because I know God loves me personally and from time to time I feel those whisperings come from God and that I am special to Him. He hears me when I pray and I receive answers to those prayers. I prayed to know if this church was correct in all of its' teachings, and that answer came unequivocally...yes! I also love the family aspect of the church...it is paramount to everything else. God created something special with the family unit and we believe it must be protected with a mother and father in the home leading children in righteousness. We believe the family unit remains intact beyond this life, and our marriages are for eternity. What more could I ask for than to have my husband by my side after this life and my children there, too.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being the best woman I can be. I am honest, and I try my best to be faithful in keeping the commandments. I serve as a volunteer at the local food bank, and I attend the temple frequently. I go to church each Sunday, and I go to Institute class to study the scriptures. Right now we are studying the Old Testament. I am also reading the Book of Mormon with my daughter nightly. I have done so many fun things serving in the church like putting together Christmas dinners, Halloween parties, Women's luncheons, visiting women in our congregation and serving in nearly every capacity in the Women's organization. Now I am working with girls between the ages of 8-11 teaching them useful skills and helping to build their testimonies of our Savior.
