Hi I'm Charity

I love music, travel, and the outdoors! I will be serving a full-time mission in Tacoma Washington!

About Me

I graduated high school in 2013 and have attended community college in the past year to get nursing school prerequisites out of the way before I serve a mission the next 18 months in Tacoma Washington which I am so excited for :) I love music! It has always been a huge part of my life. I have played piano as long as I can remember and love to sing, out of tune or not :) It is a way I express myself - I turn to music when I'm angry, sad, happy, and even bored. Music is not only a major part of who I am as a person, but also has a big impact on how I feel the Spirit. I LOVE my family! I'm the oldest of 6 children in my family, a younger sister and 4 younger brothers. My siblings have become some of my best friends! We love to go camping, boating, dirt biking, and traveling to other states to see extended family. I love to travel to anywhere!! Most of the time it's California, but I have had fun opportunities to go across the country a couple times. I haven't been able to go international yet, but I hope to see much of the world someday :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS (Mormon) church, but for a while I had a hard time with it. There have been very hard times to live the standards in the church - it's not easy! - and I didn't know if I believed it myself despite what others told me. There a came a point in my life where I needed to know for myself whether or not it was true and if I believed it. So I sought it out on my own, reading the scriptures and praying for answers. And my answers didn't come easily. It took years for me to see my testimony grow but I kept with it, and I am still learning! But that has led me to where I am today. I have seen the Spirit touch my life and the life of the people around me, and I have seen miracles because of it. Having this Gospel in my life has blessed me so much. I have had my share of struggles in life, and I can honestly say I would not be here today if it had not been for the love I felt through the members and from my Father in Heaven. There have been times I listened to talks or lessons and felt it was exactly for me and what I needed to hear, and I know that He watches out for me and will help me in my struggles if I simply ask sincerely. I know that Christ lives and blesses the lives of those who strive to be like Him, and I know that he loves each and every person on this earth and knows them individually. This IS Christ's original church that He taught when He was on the earth. It was restored by Joseph Smith and he translated the Book of Mormon with the power of God so that we might be able to use it in our lives today and be blessed by it. And most of all, I know that families can be together forever. I am so grateful and blessed to be a part of this gospel and live in a family who also loves and lives it.

How I live my faith

I have chosen to serve a full time mission for 18 months to serve the Lord and bring the Gospel to other people who might be searching for it in their lives. I love to help other people and love being able to serve other people and bring happiness into their lives. I know for myself that it is so important to pray and read the scriptures every day. It keeps me going strong and I can feel peace throughout my day no matter what happens when I do those things. I love to pray knowing that my Heavenly Father hears me and will answer my prayers. Modesty is one of the things I try hard to obey, and it can be pretty hard with the styles in the world today. I try to set an example to my younger siblings and the people around me. I want to show others that I know who I am as a daughter of a Heavenly Father who loves and knows me individually in the way that I act and dress.
