Hi I'm Dennis

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband for almost 40 years, father of 7 and grandfather of 12. My family relationships make my life very rich and enjoyable.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born to parents who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and married in the temple, I found my approach to life issues was very different. However, it is difficult for me to understand how anyone can believe in a loving Heavenly Father and not believe in the Plan of Salvation. The Plan of Salvation and the principles revealed to Joseph Smith after being lost to the world for centuries provide a logical and reassuring foundation for living and dealing with the frustrations this life throws at us. One reference given of gospel principles in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon is "the plan of happiness". I prefer to be happy, I want my wife, children and grandchildren to be happy. So, actively participating as a member of Christ's Church provides the best chance we have to realize that objective.

How I live my faith

I participate actively as a Church member - attend Sunday meetings regularly, participate is leadership positions after begin called by the proper Priesthood authorities, attempt to be dilligent in completing assignments like making regular home teaching visits to the families assigned to me, and taking advantage of social activities offered. During my years as a teenager, I enjoyed participating in the youth programs. As a young parent, I ensured my kids participated in the activity and teachings programs available for their age groups - Primary, Scouting, Young Women, etc. As a grandfather I enjoy seeing my children continue this tradition with their children and morn for the two children who have decide Church activity and membership is not for them. My wife and I continue to pray that they will have a change of heart and seek the guidance of the Spirit, returning to activity so we do not have to consider an eternity without their company.
