Hi I'm Byron

I love to run and hike and hang out with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father. I have 3 children. My profession is in internal auditing, which I have done for over 9 years. Living in Colorado I love to spend time in the mountains. I like to try to 'race' up fourteeners and try to beat my previous times. I have done this on Long's Peak the last 3 years and my best time so far is 2 hours 45 minutes. I also just completed my first marathon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and from a very early age I felt like I knew the things I heard at church and in the home were true. There were many times in my teenage years when I relied upon those teachings and they helped to keep me out of trouble. When I was 17 I really started to think more deeply about my religious upbringing. During this time I studied the Bible and Book of Mormon more intently than I ever had before. I also began pondering and praying more to try to receive a witness of the truthfulness of the things I had learned growing up. As I spent time praying, pondering, and reading I could feel the Holy Ghost more than ever as it provided reassurances to me of God's plan and the truth of the gospel that was restored in our day.

How I live my faith

Over the last three years I have devoted about 4 hours every Sunday helping to keep financial records in order for our local congregation. It has been a major sacrifice to be away from my family while carrying out this responsibility; however, my wife has been very understanding. Part of my responsibility has been to process the charitable donations of the church members. In our family we also attend church every week and hold a family night once a week. On family night we'll usually either discuss a spiritual topic or do a fun activity such as playing soccer or going on a hike to help strengthen our family.
