Hi I'm Chase

I love computers. I'm Star Wars geek. I'm a writer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Modesto, CA so it's no wonder I love Star Wars (that's where George Lucas lived). I've always been a fan of stories.I'm a singer and an actor. I've been in performance since I was 13 years old and it's addicting. I'd like to say I'm a dancer, but I've never been good at it. I love to write. If given the opportunity I would love to just sit quietly on an island and write for the rest of my life. I've even had a story published. I'm a student of word morphology. I'm a soon-to-be father. I've been married for two years. My wife is one of the most important things in my life. I love sports: particularly baseball and hockey, but I've learned to love Cricket and other team games. I'm always happy to have the chance to pray and communicate with God in times of trial.

Why I am a Mormon

I've lived in a family with very open minds. They love to express truth to each other in all of its forms. For a time in my life I didn't want to be just Mormon. I wanted to gain a testimony through my own experiences. I visited other churches and faiths and they were filled with such wonderful teachings. But they never seemed to have it all. Over time I learned so much from every church I visited. But my spirit learned the most here, as a Latter-Day Saint. I prayed for this answer. The teachings of Christ are fully explained here in this church. They are plain. They are exact. They are true. I hope others will open their hearts as I have had the opportunity to and just listen and let faith grow within them as I have.

How I live my faith

My faith centers around the caretaking of the family. I work at church with the little children, trying to help them recognize Christ. But the truth is they help me recognize Him, not the other way around. These children brighten my days. Now with my wife expecting we have the privilege to bring a child of God into this world and teach her as she teaching us. Family is very important to me. It is the only thing I would never leave behind. I could leave behind everything else on this Earth. It is such a relief, an honor, a blessing to know that I will have my family with me for eternity. And it's the best gift in the world.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

My favorite question my friends ask me is "How do Mormons live?" We live just like everyone else. Our lifestyle is not strange or off-kilter. Sure, at a holiday dinner you won't see alcohol or smell cigars, but we live life to the fullest. My brother and I have constant competitions of who can quote the most Monty Python's Holy Grail or the most of Star Wars. My mother loves to make cookies. And I love to eat them. We all do. My friends will come over specifically for that historic cookie eating ceremony. Our lifestyle is full of laughter; full of joy. But between those goofy situations we never forgot to pray, to love, to study (both civilly and spiritually). That's who Mormons are. We laugh and play but never at the cost of our spirituality. What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

I would say that the best way to describe how we see the purpose of life is to ultimately be happy. God has given us the path to happiness. As we follow God's plan our path to happiness becomes more clear. As we pray and listen to His Spirit we will better understand God's word. Show more Show less
