Hi I'm Joanne

I am the mother of 3 boys and 1 girl. I like cooking, crafting and running. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Seattle, Washington, and attended college at BYU in Provo Utah. I graduated with a degree in Public Relations, and met and married my husband. We settled back in Washington. Now I am a busy stay-at-home mom, although some days I don't feel like I am at home much! I have a son in middle school, 2 in elementary school, and 1 still at home. We keep busy with Scouts and Cub Scouts and soccer - during soccer season we have 3 kids in soccer, all with practices on the same nights and games on Saturdays. I "love" to workout - running, cycling, swimming and weight lifting. I love the way it makes me feel, but I don't always love the early morning workouts. I have done several triathlons and 1/2 marathons. I am happy to be at this point in my life with great kids and a loving husband!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the church, but as a teenager, had to decide for myself if it was true. I prayed and studied the scriptures to know if what I was learning was true, and through the witness of the Holy Ghost, I gained a testimony that the church is true. I am happy when I am living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for the knowledge I have of our Heavenly Father's plan - where I came from, why we are here, and where we are going. I am grateful for eternal families, and the ordinances of the temple that allow us to be together forever.

How I live my faith

Our family attends church together each Sunday. I teach a youth Sunday School class. Our boys attend Scouts and Cub Scouts through the church. I visit with other women each month through a program called visiting teaching. And we live the gospel in our home each day - family prayer, prayer before meals, pictures of Jesus and important places like the temple hanging in our home, and family home evening each Monday night.
