Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a wife and mother of 2. I have a BBA in Marketing. I grew up Baptist but now...I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with my husband and 2 children. We have a large extended family in our town that we spend a lot of time with. When I am not with them, I am able to use my degree in Marketing by being a consultant for a company called Heritage Makers. I help people preserve their memories with photo projects like "storybooks." I even find time to play in an adult club volleyball league. Being active and social is very important to me and I am always looking for ways to grow. I have also always felt like I was meant to do something big but I am still search for whatever that is. Until then, I will keep moving forward with my family and friends enjoying life and all the blessings that God has given me.

Why I am a Mormon

When I first moved away to college I started searching for a church to attend. After attending a few and not feeling at home with them I agreed to attend an LDS church with a high school friend that was also attending my University. I loved the lessons that were being taught and the extremely nice people that I met. After a semester of attending this branch my friend asking if I would be interested in meeting with the Missionaries and taking the discussions. I can honestly say that those discussions changed my life! After growing up Baptist and always having questions about my religion and why we believed what we did, I never felt like I was able to get any answers, or at least ones that felt right. When the missionaries spoke to me, they not only taught me their beliefs but they answered the questions that I had always had. For the first time, they were answered and in a way that automatically felt right. It was as if for the first time a light-bulb hand gone off in my head, and not just religion but the whole purpose of life made sense to me. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true Church that was put on this earth by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

To live my faith I serve the Church in my callings. These are things that I do on my own free time for no compensation. I currently have the fun calling to help plan and organize activities for the women in the church to get together and socialize and learn of ways to grow as daughters of God. I even do my Visiting Teaching and visit women that I am assigned to periodically to see if there is anything they might need. Since joining the church I have learned a few things. The most important thing that I can think of right now is TRUE HAPPINESS. Outside of the church I was always doing things that were fun or to make me happy. What I didn't realize was that they were all just temporary fixes that in the long-run actually made me very unhappy and feel like I was trying to balance guilt with fun. CTR! It is much easier to do what you know is right. There are no consequences, no battling with your subconscious, just joy and happiness. Even though you may not see it right away. Follow Christ, listen to the Holly Ghost, pray, read your scriptures, and know that there are is a Prophet living on the earth today and he receives modern revelation for US.
