Hi I'm Trevor

I'm a software engineer, husband and father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning, and I'm a huge science and economics nerd. I love laughing, and making other people laugh. I love to play video games and board games. I love my beautiful wife and twin daughters.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that Jesus Christ acted as Savior to allow us to return to heaven, and I believe that this church was placed here by God to help us benefit from Christ's sacrifice. I think that the frequent conflict between science and religion is unfortunate and unnecessary, because the two are really pretty closely related for me. My belief in Christ and this church are from repeatedly picking some topic in the gospel where my faith is incomplete, and working to complete it. I do this by studying it and praying for God to confirm the truth or falsity of my questions, and over time God instructs me through the feelings of the Holy Ghost if what I'm studying is true. As I gain assurance of some topic, I pick the next biggest question and repeat the process. While at any moment there are things that I don't understand, I know that God is real and that he blesses and teaches me as I seek him.

How I live my faith

I try to treat each day of my life as a gift from God, and to live it in a way which demonstrates my gratitude to Him. I try to treat the people around me as fellow children of my Heavenly Father. It is important to me to become what God wants me to be. When I fail to live up to God's expectations for me, I ask him to forgive me and to help me improve.
