Hi I'm Belinda

I'm an Army Wife, I teach medical assisting to seniors, I love salsa (not the dance), and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live a crazy life. I teach school in Arizona, my husband lives in Georgia as an active duty military guy. My oldest lives in England because her husband is in the Air Force and she has two beautiful daughters. Yes, that is where I want to be just now. My next daughter lives with me and I really enjoy it. And my son is a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My life is so full, even though we are so far apart. It helps me remember that no matter how far apart we are from family whether it is generations, location, or death we are still a family and I will see them all again. I come from a very large pioneer family on my Dad's side and a large crazy cajun family from my Mom's side. I was adopted as a baby and they were Native American mix. I travel a lot between famiy members and I meet new people everywhere I go. My hope is that I can leave kindness and a friendly smile in my wake. By the way, my wake is large!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the LDS church from the moment I was adopted. But that doesn't mean my conversion of immediate or easy. Yes, the foundation made it more clear to me, but I had to soul search and search the scriptures and pray really hard to know for myself that this is the true church and it is where I belong. I think of all the blessings I have received because of the choices I have made in my life. Would my life be different had I chosen differently? You Bet! My children are all so kind, generous and they live a clean chaste life. The gospel has given me a clearer picture of where I have been, and where I am going. And most especially who I want to spen my eternal existance with. The people who I meet with for church services each week are among those whom I would want to spend much time with. They are such nice people, who truly care about me and what I am going through. They truly want to know if they can help me in whatever it is I might be needing. I also have an opportunity to turn that onto someone else. It's important to me to serve others and make it count. I do not have to get on a plane and go to another country to help make a difference. I can do that right here in my own neighborhood. When I read the scriptures and pray to my Heavenly Father I sincerely feel a presence. I have had many important prayers answered, sometimes in the opposite way I think they will be answered. I feel like I am guided in my decisions that get me where I need to be to receive even more blessings. Some decisions and blessings I have found were not for me but for someone near me that needed me to be where I was at that particular moment. I am a Mormon because I believe what I live, and I know with all my heart that God loves me and ALL others. We truly do matter!

How I live my faith

I have many opportunities to serve others in my church by teaching the children, teaching the young girls 12-18. In fact I am the piano player for the women's lesson at this time. I am not the best player, especially when the women begin to sing, but I get a lot of encouragement in spite of it. But my favorite place to serve is with the babies in the nursery. They bring such a sweet spirit into the room and they take in everything you teach them. It really doesn't matter where I serve, it just matters if I love those I am serving. When I do that I am having the best of times. You don't really know who you are influencing or who is watching you. I try to live in such a way that if I were being watched that hopefully the watcher would know that I live my faith!
