Hi I'm Ren

I'm from Gilbert Arizona. I swam at Williams Field High School. I'm currently serving a mission in Buenos Aires ARG. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm eighteen and have graduated from Williams Field High School. I currently serving a mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I was on the swim team at my high school and I coached swim team over the summer for the Town of Gilbert. I was also a lifeguard and swimming instructor for the Town for two years. I am a middle child, I have two older brothers and two younger sisters. I love reading a good book and I'm pretty okay on the piano. I was in scouting since I was eight and I eventually got my eagle award. I love to be outdoors usually and especially if I am quading or boating. When i get back from my mission intend to go to college and become a surgeon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because there is nothing else in this world that rings more true to me than what is taught in our doctrine. I can feel in both my heart and mind that the things that my leaders say are real and powerful. I was born into the gospel so I have had its light all my life and because of this, whenever I am out and in the world and see all the filth, lies and cynicism that are constantly prevalent, it can be very disheartening especially if you want the world to be the complete opposite, but the doctrine and precepts and statutes that are preached to us members show us a difficult but gratifying way to be in the world but not of it. That way is trying to be perfect like our Father in Heaven is perfects and like how Jesus Christ was perfect. I like to constantly improve myself and I am painfully aware of all my faults, and I know that the best way to be the person who I want to be is to follow the teachings the Savior of the world. That is one of the main reasons why I am a Mormon, it's because being one, gives me hope and I love having hope.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through through my obligations, either that I have for myself or the ward has for me. In my church I have a calling to teach the 7-8 year olds about the gospel as taught by my church. I try to inspire and teach them the best I can because I know the doctrine I'm teaching is important, not just for being a member of the LDS church but also to be a good person in their day to day lives. It's also taught in my faith that we should find time to help others less fortunate than us. So in light of this, I sought for opportunities to serve, I had been signed up in a school club that dealt directly with handicapped kids in our school. I also was a part of scouting in my church and we did many service projects to better our ward and community. Just recently I got involved with a program that allowed people to volunteer and spend two hours with kids from ages 0-11, who had been pulled from their homes because of many reasons, most prominently was for abuse whether that be physical, mental or otherwise. I live my faith by doing my duty to God whether in church functions or not.
