Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a wife, a Mother and a partner in the business. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married 14 yrs. I have one daughter. I work part-time as an Optometric Technician at the Optometry Office we started about 7 yrs ago. I love music, reading, sports, video games, camping, hiking, traveling. We can't have children, our daughter is adopted and we are currently trying to adopt again. This summer we are going to start the foster care process in an effort to help more children and bring more joy into our home.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed to grow up in a stable, loving family. As I grew up I was a Mormon because my friends and family were Mormon. As I matured and came up against challenges and hard decisions I began to realize that the teachings and habits I had been raised with were helping me make good choices in tough situations. Many times when I wanted to curl up and cry; when it would have been easier to stop going to church and making the effort to help others I found the strength to keep doing things I knew were good for me and knew I would be ok again. I stay in the church because doing so makes the hard times worthwhile and a little easier; and it makes the good times joyful and better than I deserve.

How I live my faith

When you grow up in the church your told to always say your prays, always go to church and read the scriptures everyday. I never took it very seriously until I'd gotten married and had to rely on all the past advice and knowledge that I never paid enough attention to. Doing those things daily gives me so many things; Faith that the trials I go through have a purpose and make me better than I was. The desire to help those around me, empathy for others suffering. All the positions in the church are filled by volunteers who have a desire to help the people around them. Patience with my husband, daughter, family and the universe in general. Gratitude for the knowledge that I have the opportunity to always be with my family; in this life and the next.
