Hi I'm Tom

I'm a husband and the father of two grown children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I are "empty nesters." Our daughter is married, recentrly graduated from college, and working while her husband finishes his final semester. Our son is serving a church mission in Canada. We love our kids tremendously and do all that we can to keep up with how and what they're doing. Mostly, we love spending time with each other, whether going on lunch dates or laughing at each others' corny jokes. We will be serving a church mission together in Arkansas during the first half of 2013.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Catholic and have many fond memories of those experiences and a great respect for that faith. As a young adult, I began to feel strongly that there was more. When the missionaries began coming to my home, they taught me concepts that felt very much like reminders of truths that I already knew: that I lived before I was born to this earth; that God had a plan that enables me to return to live with Him forever; that He has made that same plan available to every person who has ever lived, through work done in holy temples; and, most importantly, that Jesus Christ fills the central redeeming role in God's plan for His children.

How I live my faith

I'm far from perfect in any respect. Still, I try to be honest and fair with others. I try to follow the Savior's perfect example of obedience and service in life. Knowing through personal experience that God hears and answers prayers, I have sought to establish a pattern of daily prayer and study in my life, with the hope of being receptive to those answers and other divine direction for my daily activities.
