Hi I'm Elder Horne

I love music. I am an outdoors-man. I love doing service for others. I am going on a LDS mission. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am serving a LDS Mission in Tacoma Washington and now Washington Federal Way. I love to rock climb, work with wood, go camping, hang out with friends, meet new people, hang out with my parents, play ultimate Frisbee, cook, and do landscaping. My most favorite relaxing activity is playing my Guitar. Music has really become a part of who I am!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the Gospel and I know that it is true. I love to go church and be in a friendly atmosphere every Sunday. I love to feel Heavenly Father's love for me and the peace that His Spirit brings. I have never felt true happiness through the world, but when I live the gospel I feel joy and happiness in my life that money can't buy. I love The Book of Mormon and I know that it is true. The Book of Mormon changed my life, strengthened my testimony and helped me to become closer to Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the scriptures daily. I read out of the Book Of Mormon and the Bible. I have come to know that these are true writings from the prophets of God. I love to study different topics, like Charity, or Faith or prayer. I have learned and gained so much understanding, along with a strengthened relationship with God. I also pray daily. I know that our Heavenly Father is always there ready to help. I have gained a sure confirmation of the power of prayer. I try to serve and help others as Jesus Christ did when He was here on the Earth. I have also learned and gained a sure confirmation or testimony of being obedient. Not just to my parents but to the Lord and His commandments. I have learned that as I strive to do as God councils me to do, I feel His spirit much stronger and I am much more at peace and am much more happy. I live my faith also by going to Church, not only to worship, but to partake in the the Sacrament(the bread and water) because by doing so I renew the promise I made to follow Heavenly Father and Keep His commandments when I was baptized. I live my faith because I know without it I would not be able to be as happy as I am now. I also live it because I know that it is the full and true Gospel that Jesus Christ taught as he was here on the earth, I have come to know this because the Holy Spirit has witnessed to me that it is true.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Elder Horne
To me a testimony is what you know to be true. For an example I will share my tesimony. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God in the latter-days. I know that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father live and are always there ready to help. I know that The Book of Mormon is true. I know that by living the gospel I have felt true happiness. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet of God. I know that I am a son of God. I know where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going. I know that through prayer I recive answers from God. I know I can always pray to them about anything because they know what exactly I am going through. I know that Jesus Christ died for us and atoned for our sins. I have felt the effect of the Atonement in my life. When I have prayed and asked for forgiveness I have felt Heavenly Father forgive me for my wrong doings. I know Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me. The Holy Ghost has also comfirmed to me that these things are true. Show more Show less
