Hi I'm Summer

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married my best friend in August 2000.  I am a stay-at-home mom of 3 kids. I also help my husband run his business. My husband calls me rerun, because I quote movies & commercials all the time. I love to sing, dance, and read. I love love love music....all kinds! I love to sing to my children to sleep! My children are the joys of my life!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both converts to the LDS church as teenagers. I was born and raised in the church. I had mostly non-LDS friends growing up, and sometimes my friends would go with me to church, and sometimes I went with them. Every time I went to a different church, I felt like something was missing. Every time my friends and I got into a religious conversation, I was forced to learn more about what I believed. I had glimpses of insight here and there, and I had a testimony, but it wasn't until my oldest sister died when I was 22 that I started really applying faith, and asking the more important questions about life. That experience forced me to once and for all decide who I was, what I believed, and how I was going to choose to live my life. One of the things that really strengthened my testimony is the music in the church. The primary songs for children, and the hymns are so inspired. Every single time I sing them, or even hear them, I just have such a good feeling, and I just know that those words are true! I know it! I am a Mormon because I know that it is the only church that teaches us the truth about where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going. I know my Heavenly Father has a plan for me. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. Because of Jesus Christ, I can be forgiven of my sins, and I can feel comfort when I am sad, and help when I feel helpless. I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It is my favorite book that I have ever read! I love this chuch!

How I live my faith

Right now, I am working with the 12-18 year old girls. We have meetings on Wednesday evenings, and it is so much fun. We do a variety of activities from sports to scrapbooking, service projects, and game nights. It makes me really happy to help the girls to learn who they are, and help them develop their talents. I love watching them grow in their understanding of life. I also visit 2 women from church each month in their homes, and offer them friendship and support. It is nice to forget about my own problems for a while, and get to be a friend to someone else, who needs to talk about what is going on in their life. I've developed some really wonderful friendships through the years of giving this service. My biggest responsibility, however, is teaching my children in our home, and helping them develop a deep love and respect for our Savior, Jesus Christ.
