Hi I'm James

I'm an engineer, a father of four, a sports enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First and foremost I am a husband and father to four boys. Needless to say with four boys our house is often loud and chaotic. I work as an engineer for a small start-up company. I recently completed graduate school and am really enjoying the extra time I now have with my family. I enjoy sports. I still try and play basketball, tennis, volleyball. I've recently taken up cycling and am thinking about entering a triathlon next year. I also enjoy getting outdoors with my boys in particular hiking with them in the Rocky Mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but like everyone else there came a time that I had to decide for myself if I truly believe everything that I'd been taught. When I was a teenager I spent some time praying trying to gain my own witness or testimony. I did receive a witness and have known from that day that I need to follow the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ. My experiences since then, which included a 2 year mission to Portugal, have helped my conviction grow.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday by being the kind of man I should be. This guides the way I treat my co-workers, my friends, and my family. In my Church I've had the opportunity to serve in many different ways. I've served as a Boy Scout Leader, a volleyball and basketball coach for teenage boys, a choir director, and as a leader of 15 adult men. I recently had the opportunity to teach Sunday School studying the New Testament and it has helped me to come to appreciate and better understand the Savior and his life. I'm now serving in Boy Scouts again and I've come to appreciate the opportunity to work with such fine teenage boys.
