Hi I'm Cari

I am a mother of six and have been blessed to be able to be a stay-at-home mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and grew up in Cody, Wyoming. After graduating from high school there, I spent a year in Kiel, Germany as an exchange student. I married my husband in 1989 and ,after his graduation from BYU, we moved to San Antonio, Texas. All six of my children have been born here. My oldest is serving a mission in Chile and my youngest just started kindergarten. I enjoy reading and scrap-booking. I am currently coaching my second season of soccer for my youngest.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother joined the Church when I was a year old. I grew up attending church regularly with my mother and four siblings. After returning from being an exchange student in Germany, I was at a crossroads in my life and knew that I had to decide who I wanted to be and what I wanted from life. At that point, I began a six-month intensive study of the scriptures and fervent frequent prayer. I needed to know for myself that the Church was true. It was then that I came to know that my Heavenly Father lives and loves me, individually. It was then that I came to be sure that I wanted to be married in the temple and raise a righteous family in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I have many friends who are not members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Because I am very active in the community, I have opportunities to meet many people. I love the friendliness of the people in San Antonio. Making friends is very easy. I volunteer at my children's school. I am coaching my youngest son's soccer team. All of my children are very involved in sports, music lessons, and other extra-curricular activities. Most of my friends outside the Church are parents of my children's friends. Within the Church, I serve in the position of Compassionate Service Coordinator. When there are service needs in our congregation, I help organize efforts to assist. It is a very rewarding job. Additionally, I am a visiting teacher. In our church, we women are asked to visit, in pairs, 3-4 other women in their homes. There we share an uplifting message and look for ways we can help or be of service to those we visit and their families. I love visiting teaching! It is a great way to get to know and grow to love the ladies I go to church with.
