Hi I'm Marla

I'm a mom, grandma, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a mother and a grandmother. I recently retired after working nearly 30 years. I am enjoying spending more time with my family, which consists of 4 children and their spouses, and 12 bright , beautiful grandchildren! I like to garden (flowers) , sew, and have sleepovers with my grand daughters.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both LDS, so I grew up learning the principles and doctrines of the church from them and wonderful teachers from our congregation. My faith has always been a very important part of my life. But it wasn't until I became a single parent that it was tested. I turned to my Heavenly Father in frequent and fervent prayer for help in the daunting challenges I faced. Through it all I felt of HIs love for me, His guidance, peace and comfort. I know God lives. I know Jesus Christ is His son, my Savior and Redeemer. My faith has given purpose and meaning to my life. It is my anchor as well as my compass.

How I live my faith

In living my religion I try to be an example to others of it's teachings. I've been given many oportunities to serve in a varity of ways. Most of the time I"ve been a teacher in one of the auxiliary organizations. At present I oversee the education (Sunday lessons) for the organization for womwn, 18 years and up. All of these experiences have been very rewarding and enjoyable. In addition to this, I was a volunteer at a special facility in our community dedicated to caring for infants born addicted to drugs. This has helped me appreciate the health laws we accept and practice.
