Hi I'm Allison!

I am a wife, the mother of 5 and grandma of 2. I love my family! I work at the Spokane LDS Institute and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Vernal, Utah and graduated from BYU with a degree in Elementary Education. I met my husband while dancing on the BYU Ballroom Dance team. We moved to Spokane, Washington 25 years ago and I love the Northwest! I am the mother of 5 great kids and grandma to 2 handsome grandsons. I work at the Spokane LDS Institute as a support specialist and I marvel every day that I get paid to serve and mingle with amazing young adults. I love visiting with family and friends more that anything else!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a less active Mormon family, but I always enjoyed going to church. I felt something good there even as a youth. Through study and prayer, I have received a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. The gospel brings joy and stability to my life. When trials come, and they certainly do, the gospel helps to put things into perspective. It is an anchor in the storms of this world. I know I am happiest when I am truly living the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving those around me. I find the greatest joy and the most happiness when I am busy focusing on others and their needs. I know that the Savior was the perfect example of serving others, and that is when I feel closest to him. I am currently working with the young women in my church. It is a very busy calling, but one that I love! We find fun ways each week to serve those around us, share and make new talents, support each other and bring us closer to our Savior. I also work at the Spokane LDS Institute of Religion. This is a place for young adults to gather to study the gospel. I do not teach the classes here, but instead get to take care of the kids that come to the classes (cookies, lunches, listening ear. . .). Since all of my kids have left the nest, both my calling and my job help me to feel like a mother to many!! I love the gospel of Jesus Christ!
