Hi I'm Jo Ann Robinson

I’m a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a teacher, and a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jo Ann Robinson. My husband, Del, and I have retired to Colorado from Southern California, where we raised our 5 children. When people ask how our children turned out so awesome, I say, “They came from God that way.” We now have 11 grandchildren and one more on the way. Somehow our grandchildren are turning out just as awesome as our children did. My hobbies are playing games with my family, teaching, home décor, and art I was a full-time mom while my children were growing up, but I became a full-time teacher when they were grown. I mostly taught first grade and kindergarten. My very favorite part of teaching is watching that light go on in a child’s eyes when they finally understand a difficult concept. I also loved teaching children how to read. I felt like I was giving them a gift to enrich their lives forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ with all of my heart and it is the deepest desire of my soul to return to live with them after I die. I know that the gospel is God’s plan for happiness here in this life and His path back home to Him in the next life. The gospel shows us how to live so we can become ever closer to our Savior & our Heavenly Father. Each step along the way deepens our relationship with Them. I am thankful for the prophet, Joseph Smith, for his part in the restoration of God’s church here upon the earth. As I learn about the lives of the early saints of this dispensation, I am so thankful that they were willing to go through so much that the gospel could be reestablished that I might be able to raise my family in the shelter of the gospel today. I couldn’t imagine raising a righteous family in this crazy world today without the strength of the gospel to guide us.

How I live my faith

I strive to live a Christ-centered life. I try each day to be a little better than I was the day before. I strive to be worthy of the companionship of the Holy Ghost in my life by trying to be more obedient to God’s will, more honest, kind, patient, humble, forgiving, loving, and less selfish in my everyday actions. Of course each day I fall far short, but in the striving, I become a better person. As I study the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon and the New Testament, I learn more and more about the nature of God and Christ and my love and appreciation for Them and my desire to be like Them increases. I love giving service because I feel like I am helping our Heavenly Father by blessing the lives of His children.
