Hi I'm Tim

I'm an education reformer. I'm an LSU football fan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have moved around quite a bit throughout my life which has helped me develop a strong appreciation for diversity and different cultures. I lived in California as a youngster, and we moved to Louisiana before I began my teenage years. I spent two years in Italy after high school and began my career in Florida. I know live in Colorado, having decided to trade the beach for the mountains. I am working to try and improve America's public education system by elevating the profession of teaching. I am also a law student. I enjoy fishing and am also a writer. Cooking is something that I want enjoy, but would like to get better at. Overall I just enjoy learning new things and challenging myself with the endeavors I pursue.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both Mormon and they raised me in the Mormon faith. Like most teenagers I eventually reached a point in my life where I had to decide for myself if it was going to be the right choice for me. I set out to gain my own personal witness as to whether or not the teachings of Mormonism were actually true. I decided to begin reading the Book of Mormon nightly and to pray to Heavenly Father. While nothing happened to me immediately, as I continued this leap of faith I slowly begin to notice my life beginning to change. My attitude toward life improved, I began to make better decisions, and I began to feel a greater love for other people. As I continued my commitment to reading the Book of Mormon and praying, I began to feel overwhelming feelings of peace and comfort as I would get on my knees to thank God for the things with which he has blest me. I began to feel guidance as I would ponder searching questions in prayer. My prayers and reading became more than a routine, but rather the most sacred part of my day. This is the way that the Lord communicated the truth to me, and it is because he knew that this would be a productive method for me. I believe that the Lord has many ways of communicating the truth, and there is a method that will work for every one. The crucial piece is the initiation, that leap of faith, on the part of those who are earnestly seeking the truth.

How I live my faith

I enjoy living my faith in a variety of ways. I enjoy fellowshipping with like-minded people that share a commitment to improving a little each day. I appreciate the opportunities to provide service to the elderly or others that stand in need. I have had opportunities to mentor young adults and try to teach them from my mistakes. Mostly, I am grateful to be a part of a brotherhood and sisterhood that helps be a better man.
