Hi I'm Amber

I was raised in Southern California where I met my husband. I am a mom of four young children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of four children. My husband and I never thought we'd raise our family in Utah after both growing up in Southern California, but since attending school and finding a good job, we are thrilled to be living in Utah. I get to be a stay-at-home mom, which I truly love. I love to sing, play the piano and cello, paint, crochet, and mostly, read. We have a HUGE garden and many fruit trees this year and I'm learning a lot about canning and perserving food for the winter. It's fun. More fun than when I had to do it as a kid. :) Another thing I do often and really like is washing the dishes. I know, that's a strange one, but it's a chore that I actually enjoy and usually have a good time doing. I enjoy watching my children learn how to read, bake, and play make believe with each other. I have taught piano for almost 10 years, but haven't the last few years in order to focus on my family. I am currently teaching my oldest son to play and love watching his improvement and talent. I have a degree in business and worked outside the home until our oldest was 8 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I gained my testimony slowly over the years of following the commandments and examples of my parents. I have been blessed to be surrounded by believing people, which has helped to strengthen my testimony as it was growing. Now, however, I feel that I have had many personal experiences where the Lord has shown me His hand in my life, especially when I called out for help to Him. I am blessed to have the opportunity to listen to living prophets, pray to know of truth for myself, and feel the Holy Spirit witness to me personally that I am doing what Heavenly Father wants me to do and that He is pleased with me and loves me. I love Him very much.

How I live my faith

I love the sisterhood that comes from visiting teaching. When I'm there I always remember why I try and visit faithfully each month. I served in the young women's youth group, ages 12-18 years, for three years. Through that calling I have come to love and understand the love of the Lord for the youth. He loves them so much. We moved a few years ago and I have been serving in Primary (the classes for kids ages 18 months - 12 years). Recently I was called to serve in the Women's Relief Society organization. This was a big change for me and very intimidating. But, I have found that the more I put trust in the Lord and simply try to bring His Spirit with me when I serve and teach, I am blessed and together, the sisters learn and are edified from each other. I am so blessed to be able to serve so many wonderful people around me and learn from them.
