Hi I'm John

I work as an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Salt Lake City, and now I live on the west coast. I am a physician, and in addition to my regular practice, I have traveled to Honduras over a dozen times to do reconstruction surgery on children with birth defects. I am married to a wonderful woman. I have three children (of whom I am very proud), and they are all grown. I love learning, reading, movies and travelling.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up as a Mormon, the reason I'm STILL a Mormon is the richness the gospel brings to my life. Having a relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus has brought me through good times and bad. I like to say that the Church is an anchor in my life. As we go through life, it is somewhat like a mountain hike-- sometimes an easy walk through a mountain meadow, sometimes like a narrow path along a cliff, and sometimes it is so hard it is like climbing on a sheer rock wall. When it gets like that, I am so grateful to have the anchor of the Gospel to tie my safety rope to. When I read the scriptures and feel the spirit tell me that they are true, it gives me the strength to do whatever needs to be done.

How I live my faith

I am very active in our congregation. I attend services weekly, and love serving in various callings in the Church. I have also worked with the Boy Scouts program for many years, although not as much now that my son is grown.
