Hi I'm Jill

I am a wife, mother, sister and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom that keeps busy with all the things that come with having 5 kids (especially when 3 of them are girls). I love spending time with my family. Some of our favorite things to do together are playing board games, camping, movie night and spending time in the kitchen, cooking and eating. I love the smell of baking bread. I love trying new recipes and I love feeding people. I want to be a runner but it isn't a strong point right now although I did run my first 1/2 marathon in March. Yepee for me!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a wonderful family with parents who taught me about Father in Heaven and his plan of happiness. Growing up it was easy for me to follow the teachings of the gospel. I wanted more than anything to be a wife and mother and to follow the example of my grandmother and mother. When I was 15 and had just started High school and my first year of seminary I started to wonder if I really had a testimony or not. My Seminary teacher, Brother Peterson, was more then happy to stick around after class and talk one day so I shared with him my concerns. I told him that I had not had a spiritual experience that could help me say that I knew that the Church was true. He asked me if I had ever felt a good feeling when I learned of Joseph Smith or about the doctrines that were taught at church and at home. I didn't need any time at all to answer his question. I knew I had felt that feeling many times and I recognized it as the Spirit. I call that moment my "Ah Ha" moment, the moment that I realized that I had the truth and that it had been testified to me by the Spirit little by little. Since that time I have been able to continue to strengthen my testimony through those little wisperings from the Holy Ghost. I am so grateful for the knowledge I have that Jesus is our Savior, that He loves me and each of us individually.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in every part of my daily life. Being a wife and mother has brought me so much joy. I have 5 kids. (3 girls and 2 boys) I have been blessed with a husband who loves me and works hard with me to make our relationship one that will last through the eternities. Being a mother is hard sometimes with all of the demands of life but I know that daily prayer to my Heavenly Father will give me strength and will lead and guide me as I teach and guide my children. In my church service through the years I have had the opportunity to work with and teach the youth. I am currently the primary president. I lead and work with other men and women to teach the children ages 18 months to 12 years old. The spirit is so strong in primary! This years theme in Primary has been "I know the scriptures are true". What a blessing it is in my life to get to teach and learn from these sweet children! I try to live my life in such a way that people will know what I believe and what is most important to me by the things I say and do. I don't always get it right but I am trying to put Heavely Father and my family first and to share the knowledge I have with those around me that might not have it yet.
