Hi I'm Margaret

I grew up in a small town in Washington State. I've traveled and worked in many places and, I'm a Mormon. A convert.

About Me

During my lifetime I had the opportunity to attend many different churches; but, none of them really made me feel "at home". By that I mean complete. They were all interesting in their different ways and I felt some joy at being in church on Sunday; but I never felt totally wanted, needed, or completely comfortable. Every time I would come close to "settling in", my mother made decisions that would start me down another path. I would have to start all over again to get acquainted with new people and customs. Later in my life I was introduced to missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The very first church meeting I went to was in Bellevue, Washington. I felt as though I had come home from a very long journey. I was welcomed by everyone there and I felt a "feeling" deep in my soul that I had finally found what it was I had been searching for my whole life. Things went so well for such a long time; but when they went badly (my fault, my bad attitude); I became inactive for many years. I am happy to say that I had a mighty change of heart and attitude and am now regularly attending my church meetings and enjoying my life as I grow in the information contained in the Scriptures. The Old and New Testament, the Book of Mormon, The Doctrine and Covenants, and The Pearl of Great Price. These are for me like old friends that I can look back to for help and understanding in my life. I feel closer to Jesus Christ when I make time to read from them everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know without a shadow of a doubt that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I have a testimony that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and was called by God to restore to modern-day earth His church in these latter-days. I have a strong testimony of tithing, and of the Word of Wisdom, and of being honest, and in enduring whatever trials or tribulations may come my way. Two Scriptures I so believe in are found in The New Testament; in 1Corinthians, Chaper 13; and the other is found in The Book of Mormon in Moroni, Chapter 10: 3-5. These scriptures have helped me in so many ways and in so many different situations throughout my life. There are many other "favorites" but I can truly tell you that if you have faith, hope, and, charity in your heart and pray with real intensity, being fully trusting in Jesus Christ, you will in no way be able to deny the truthfulness of the Scriptures, and in the truth that is found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I very much enjoy being able to visit with the members of our Church and share thoughts, ideas, and learning from others the joy they have by living by the standards set forth for our profit and learning. Some days, I struggle; and Lucifer (Satan) just loves those moments. But I am able to pull myself out of it by saying a small, simple prayer and it never fails; the Lord is right there to help me. We may not be able to control what bad things may come our way, but, we surely can control how we will conduct ourselves while enduring them. Nobody has perfect days all day every day; but, if we just listen for that still, small voice, soften our hearts, and humbly recognize we can't do it alone, it will all work out. We are either moving forward or backward; there is no standing still. I just try to take it one day at a time and it always seems to work out for the best. Faith, hope, and charity help me to keep moving forward. I love this gospel plan with all my heart, might, mind, and strength. It is true; it always has been and always will be because it is one eternal round; never begining and never ending. I learn something new everyday and am grateful for that.
