Hi I'm Adrienne

I'm a Canadian living in Texas. I love to travel. I seek adventure and fun. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 27 year old wife and mother. I had my first baby when I was 25. She died when she was just 1 week old. Less than one year after that we had our second little girl. The experience of losing my first baby has been defining. It continually shapes me as I try to live each day with love and gratitude for what I have been blessed with. I love being a mom! It's a way for me to use my talents and see God's love for us each day- through the eyes of a child! I love to travel! I've been to at least a dozen countries and plan to keep increasing that number! Some of my favorite places include, southern Thailand (the beaches are Ah-mazing!) Orange County, California (so much fun in such a small radius!) and Salzburg, Austria ( The hills ARE alive with the sound of music ;) no really, they are gorgeous mountains!)

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Fortunately for me my mom and dad raised me in the church! As a youth I challenged myself to find out if it was really true. I read the scriptures, prayed, talked to others about challenges I faced and I felt the spirit telling me that the gospel was true. That if I was faithful I would find greater happiness here than through any other way. Since then trials have come into my life but I have chosen to turn to God through prayer, and faith and He has strengthened me and helped me through. I have learned that having faith doesn't prevent life and hard things, it just helps you get through them when they do come. And truly I have learned that there is greater happiness in following the gospel plan than choosing not to follow.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is a daily habit. It includes reading the scriptures with purpose and dedication, praying, singing hymns, trying to be Christlike in my actions, especially in my role as a mother. It can be difficult to remember to always try to be like Him so I make an effort to keep my home feeling peaceful so I have a constant reminder to be calm and loving like He is. Another way that I live my faith is by participating in planning monthly activities for the women at church. We try to have a varied schedule of activities throughout the year and right now we're getting geared up to do a big crafts day in October! We have some very talented ladies sharing some of their favorites with us! I'm way excited! I love helping come up with ideas that I think our sisters will like!

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Our church is about family first and foremost. We love our families and we want to be with them forever. God in His wisdom has a plan, that includes being baptized as part of the steps to take to be worthy to live with Him (and our families) again. Because there are some people who died here without having the chance to be baptized God had given us authority to be baptized for them. By doing so they are able to receive the same blessings as though they had been baptized themselves while living here on earth. It's beautiful really. When you realize that we are each so precious to Him that He has created a plan, a perfect plan to help us all return to Him and live with Him and our families forever. That He doesn't limit it to just those who found the gospel in this life, but there is a way for ALL His children to return to Him again. Show more Show less
