Hi I'm Denise

I am a mother of 7 beautiful children. I enjoy scrapbooking and horsebackriding. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of 7 beautiful children. 4 of them are grown and are currently attending college. The 3 younger ones are adopted. I have enjoyed the blessings and trials that come from serving special needs children. I love scrapbooking my children's accomplishments and challenges. I also enjoy hiking in the beautiful canyons around my home. I am so grateful for the beauty of nature that surrounds us. I love listening to country music, and playing the piano in my spare time. I have been substitute teaching this school year while finishing my secondary education teaching degree at Brigham Young University, and am looking forward to teaching full time this Fall.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this Gospel! Although I was baptized at age 8, I was not truly converted until age 49. There are many churches in existence today that have the partial truth. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) is the only church on the earth today that has the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In companionship with the Bible, the Book or Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, provides the fullness of these teachings. Some people feel that all of the commandments and rules we follow are confining and not fair; however, I testify to any and all who read my words, that Heavenly Father gave us these commandments to bless us with the freedom to return to live with him. He also blessed us with agency to choose between right and wrong. I love the way I feel when I live the teachings of my Savior. I am very far from perfect, I have struggles and challenges on a daily basis. But, as I strive to do better, I know my Heavenly Father is blessing me and watching over me and my children. I am so grateful for the Plan of Salvation and principle of eternal families that the Gospel provides. I am so excited to be able to live with my family for eternity; not only in this mortal life, but for all eternity!

How I live my faith

I love living my Faith. I try to find ways to serve others each day. I truly believe that service is what our Faith is all about. One of my favorite scriptures is in the Book of Mormon - Mosiah 2:17 which quotes King Benjamin saying: "And Behold, I tell you these things, that ye may learn wisdom, that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." I truly believe this and try to live this principle each day. I love working with the Sunbeams (3 year old class) in church each Sunday! They are so precious and special. I also enjoy my time as a Relief Society Visiting Teacher. I love going with my partner to visit our 3 sisters in our ward. The Relief Society of the church provides endless opportunity for women to offer service and I have both served, and been blessed by others serving me through this organization. I also enjoy Indexing Family History records online through Family Search. I feel that my biggest blessing is the opportunity to serve my family. I love sending care packages to my children who are away at college. I can hear the smile on their face as they text me a "thank you for the package, mom!" These are the things I love to do and they help me know I am living my faith.
