Hi I'm Alison

I love to learn and to travel. My most precious possession is my family and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children. My father was in sales, so needless to say we moved a lot during my childhood , I have lived up and down the West Coast from Alaska to California. We spent many a weekends discovering the local beauties and visited many historical sites as a family. I served a mission in Frankfurt, Germany. I recently graduated from college in Human Resource Management. I would like to travel more and see the rest of the world. I love life, I love people, I love to learn, I love my family and grateful that I have the knowledge of the gospel in my life as so to answer the questions about life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I KNOW the gospel is true. Years of living and having principles of the gospel be taught and practiced has confirmed my beliefs. It is an ongoing process as I continue to study, lean and grow. Below is my favorite poem, it reinforces the belief that I AM A CHILD OF GOD: From Marianne Williamson's book A Return to Love: Reflections On The Principles of A Course In Miracles, page 165: Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and famous?" Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us. It's in everyone, and as we let our own light shine, we consciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

How I live my faith

By living, what Jesus taught, by example and serving others. Being able to be in contact with family , friends and community ones gets to really know people and how one can help and make the world a better place. By serving, one can appreciate all the blessings the Lord has given and it helps put life into perspective.
