Hi I'm Lisa

I was introduced to the church by my best friend when I was 9. I have experienced many Blessings from my membership. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 5 beautiful children with an awesome husband. I graduated from ASU with a bachelor's degree in Special Education 13 years ago in December. I run, bike and try to stay healthy. I like to make stuff and fix things. I love to vacation, camp, hike, go to the beach and of course do all of those things with my family included. I also love to go on dates with my husband and hang out with our dear friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was about 7 years old, I was searching for a church to go to. My parents said that we were Methodist, yet I don't ever remember going to church there. So I went with my Great Aunt to her church. She was Baptist I believe. I wanted to know more about my Savior and Heavenly Father. I had another friend invite me to go to the Catholic church, for some reason out of the three or so times that I was invited to go, I was never able to make it. When I was 9 a girl moved in down the street and became my best friend. She asked if I wanted to go to her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I said "yes" and went, I started to go each week with her family and finally she asked if I'd like the Missionaries to come to my home to teach me more about the church. I said "yes" and by that time, my younger sister had started to go with me. I felt so good when the Sister Missionaries came to our house. At one point my mom started to hide from the missionaries, because she wasn't sure how she felt about them coming over and teaching my sister and I. Eventually she grew more comfortable and willingly invited them into our home. After taking the discussions I wanted to be baptized and so did my sister. My mom told us that there were lot's of good churches out there so not to think that this was the only true church, but I said, "Mom, I know this is the true church, I can feel it!" My sister and I were baptized and then after a couple of years my mom was ready along with my oldest brother to join the church. My brother was baptized, but my mom felt like she should wait because it might pull my dad and other brother apart from the family. So she waited. My other brother a couple of years later decided to get baptized but my dad wasn't ready. It wasn't until my oldest brother went on his mission that we had an amazing experience with the missionaries and my dad where he felt the spirit so strong and wanted to get baptized and be an Eternal Family!

How I live my faith

I feel so strongly about the church and it's roll in my life. I have seen many great changes and blessings through my membership in the church and it's teachings. I know I have a purpose in this life, that we all do and we all have a purpose after this earthly life. I still have much to learn, but after my 23 years as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I look back and thank my Heavenly Father for sending a trusted friend into my life that forever changed it by asking me to go to church. How sad I would feel if I did not have the peace and serenity that this church offers me. I have made many mistakes but I know that through the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ that I can be made clean again and so can everyone if they but partake of the blessings of the Atonement. He is waiting for each one of us to come unto him and live. It doesn't matter who we are, what we've done, or what we look like... He loves each one of us and wants us to find joy in this life and into the eternities. I love my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ with all of my heart, I know that my love is not yet perfected, but I know that through striving to be a better person and trying to do what is right that I will learn and grow and have the ability to become more like my Savior. I'm thankful for my membership in this church and wish to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with all who are waiting to partake of it. I leave you my testimony that I know this church is a true and living testament of our Savior Jesus Christ and his teachings, that we have a living prophet on this earth, and he is the prophet for all mankind. I know the scriptures testify of Christ and his teachings and are the records of past prophets and apostles who have lived on the earth before us. I have a sweet testimony of Joseph Smith's roll in restoring the gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth. I know that we are "ALL" children of God. I say this in the Sacred name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
