Hi I'm Katie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just recently graduated from Shenandoah High school. My senior year was by far the best year of school I've had so far. I accomplished my two biggest goals: making the Iowa All-State choir; and completing my personal progress and receiving my young women's medallion. My future plans (so far) consist of going to college at Buena Vista University to major in vocal and instrumental music education with a minor in theatre. I am from a big family. I have 31 cousins, 16 aunts and uncles (that is both my mom's and my dad's sides), 3 brothers, and one sister.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because without it, I wouldn't be happy. During my Senior year of High School, I started to stray off "the path".. "The path" being the only way to return to our Heavenly Father.. During that time, I wasn't acting like myself... My grandmother noticed what I was doing and talked to me about it, and then I realized what exactly I was turning in to. And it wasn't what I wanted to be. I wasn't a happy person anymore like I used to be. I was grumpy and stressed and my friends didn't want to be around me. So I changed. I started going back to church with more enthusiasm and I didn't have to be forced there by my parents, and I actually participated in class and in Wednesday night activities. I soon realized that my friends asked me to hang out more often and we did more fun stuff together, like going to see "Frozen" on Christmas. I started to be happy again. And I like who I am.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping a steady schedule with my reading of the scriptures. I go to church and lead the music in sacrament meeting every Sunday and then when I go to Young women's, I play the piano for our opening hymn.
