Hi I'm Kristanne

I grew up in rural Utah, taught science in school, became a full time wife and mother, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, and the mother of 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. I have a degree in Biology and taught both junior and senior high school. I became a full time mom when my son was 1. I served a mission in Italy and still have great friends there. I love to cook, garden, camp, read and spend time with my family. I have a very close family and my best friends are my mom and sisters. I have a great husband who works writing software, and has taught me much about computers. I love nature and art. My life has had tons of highs and lows. My children have had many difficulties in life, which in turn have become some of my trials. I have 1 son with ADD, another with ADHD, a daughter who has Borderline Personality disorder. Not at all what I was expecting when I started this adventure with my husband of 20 years. However, through all of the highs and lows we have had the gospel and it has been there to help my family understand the purpose of this life and help us to find the good and still be thankful for all the blessings we have. We just moved to Colorado from Utah, where I have lived my whole life, and it is new to us. I miss my family tons, but am looking forward to the new friends we will make.

Why I am a Mormon

I was bron into the Mormon church and more or less knew of it's truth, but my true conversion came when I was 19. I went through a very difficult trial at that time, and my parents were living out of the country. My most constant source of support came from the Lord. He was there for me when I was alone and devastated. I learned through prayer, and scripture study that He lives, and that He loves us. That he has restored the truth on the earth and that all of His teachings were available to me and would help me to learn and grown and to especially have peace. I then went on a mission where my testimony was strengthened. In the past 4 years as my family has struggled with many, many trials the gospel has been a source of strength and it's teachings have brought peace to my soul when all was falling apart around us. I am so blessed to be member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I don't know where I would be today without the gospel in my life!

How I live my faith

My greatest job here on earth is as a mother. I have had my greatest joys and sorrows in that job as well. I love being a full time mom. I have been able to see my children grow and learn. When I was little I remember coming home to my mother and telling her all about my day. It was always a source of comfort and security to me. I want to give the same blessing to my children. I have been involved in volunteering at their schools, helping with fundraisers, attending productions and helping with homework. I am also I tough drill sergeant in helping my children learn to work and learn skills to help them in their adult life. As my children face challenges in their lives, especially in todays age, I want my children to know that someone is there for them, and to feel loved no matter what the circumstances are. I think I have succeeded in that. I have been involved in teaching people of all ages and love it. I have taught the children, young women and adult ladies in our church. I have loved all of them. Teaching gives me the opportunity to study and grow and then to share that knowledge with others. I have also been able to visit and teach other ladies in my church at their homes. This has been a true blessing in my life. I have gotten to know and love so many of them, and many of these ladies are now some of my closest friends.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon doesn't make me much different from anyone else. I have the same wants and desires as most people, hoever being a Mormon does give me teachings that help me in all aspects of my life. Family is so important and I have learned that nothing in this world is more important that the relationship I have with them. Accolades from work are great, but accolades from family are even better. I also have added strength each day in making decision through daily prayer, scripture study and the Holy Ghost. I also have much more joy in my life and peace because I know the purpose of my life and the the plan Our Father in Heaven has for me! Show more Show less
