Hi I'm Taylor

I grew up in Africa. I'm a missionary in Fresno, California. I'll snowboard any mountain and play lacrosse on any field.

About Me

I am currently serving a full-time LDS mission in Fresno, California, as a spanish speaker, and loving every second of it. I grew up in Germany, Tanzania, and Uganda as a kid. My family currently lives in Mesa, Arizona where I finished high school. I love traveling and meeting new people of every culture. There isn't a sport that I don't love playing, and there isn't a mountain I won't take a snowboard on. I love watching sportcenter and eating otter pops in the hot Arizona sun next to the pool. I love the feeling of plowing through a big mud puddle in a 4X4 after a Monsoon. I love inside jokes and scorpion hunting. Oh, and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a member of the church. Born and raised always knowing I would serve a mission. Following the standards of this gospel brings more happiness that anything else in this world. I've been blessed with wonderful parents who have both served missions. My mom served a mission in Hong Kong and my dad served a mission in Germany. They are amazing members of the church and are a perfect example for what I want to be in the future. Why am I a mormon? Well, the church is true, and that's that. Since I have been on my mission I have realized that there is only one way that someone can know a church is true. It is by recieving a personal, spiritual witness from the Holy Ghost. "I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." (Moroni 10:4-5) I have taken this promise into my own life. I have prayed "with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ", and I have recieved my own personal, spiritual witness that the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of god and restored the gospel, and that this is the one and only true church of Jesus Christ on the Earth. That's why I am a Mormon. There's no other way around it.

How I live my faith

My current calling in the church is to invite others to come unto Christ. As a missionary we are literally representatives of Jesus Christ and are expected to act just as He would. We give up these two years to serve the Lord. How I live my faith? I go around and meet complete strangers so I can help them come unto Christ. I believe that there is no better way to live the faith than helping others everyday. I have the honored privilege to share what I know to be true with strangers. There is no greater joy than to see someone you never knew before recieve the blessings the Lord has for them by entering into the baptismal covenant. Yes, we have the highest standard of obedience there is. But along with that comes the greatest blessings one could possibly recieve. So how do I live my faith? It's simple. I live my faith by doing the very best I possibly can to be obedient to the laws and ordinances of the gospel of Jesus Christ, because I know that's the only way.
