Hi I'm Dave

Family and love is what it's all about. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to Utah State University. Show me the true-blooded Aggie from Utah that doesn't love the spot where the sagebrush grows! I love sagebrush. Basketball and volleyball are the best. I love being with my family and friends the most! They are the most important things to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I, being born of goodly parents, am very grateful that they taught me of Jesus Christ and His Gospel. The hope, knowledge, strength, and comfort I have received from it has been lifechanging. I was raised in this church, but that IS NOT why I still belong to it. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have learned for myself that it is true. Every man or woman must, at some point in their lives, question what they have been taught, no matter what that is. But a wise man asks God, and God has sent the Holy Spirit to confirm truths in our hearts. God does not want us to be confused. We are His children and he wants us to be happy and to return to live with Him. One simple prayer helped set the course of my life. I found, and there is no doubt in my mind, that God loves me and wants me to be happy. I found that he does answer prayers. I didn't see Him, but I felt His influence and love so strongly through His Spirit that I still remember the overwhelming comfort, peace, and happiness it brought. Since then I have said many prayers, and had many answered. I have also found for myself, through prayer, that this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, is truly led by God through a prophet today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to do all Christ asks of me. Christ can't stand hypocrisy. So I actually DO something rather than pretending. Sometimes I mess up, but Christ lovingly paid the price for me to be able to get back up and try again. Here are some of the things I do. My personal favorite, prayer! Read the scriptures and "feast upon the words of Christ". I go to church and worship Him. I sometimes teach others in Sunday School, but I try to remember to teach most by EXAMPLE; by doing. I sacrificed 2 years to teach people about His Gospel and how He has established His church. We can only be blessed and saved when we DO what Christ has asked us. That is why I try to take action.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Dave
Missionaries talk primarily about Jesus Christ, and that eternal life and lasting happiness only come through Him. They teach how you can come closer to Christ, and then invite you to do it; to take those steps to come unto Him. And they don't expect you to take their word for it. They will tell you to pray and ask God if what they have taught is true. It only matters to you if you know it is true. Ask God and only God, because He alone knows everything and will give you pure truth. Show more Show less
