Hi I'm Garrett

I'm an outdoor fanatic, I love to learn, I still play Nintendo 64, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I consider myself the type of person that can't sit around and watch TV or play video games for long periods of time, unless its Nintendo 64. I love to stay active. I love music and especially playing the piano. Some of my passions include wake-boarding on the Snake River, skeet shooting, hiking and camping wherever there's a fish to be caught, and snowboarding in the winter-especially if there is a fresh foot of powder. I have been blessed with a dad and three brothers who share common interests as I do so we've made a lot of good memories together. I also have a wonderful mom and two sisters who keep us all in line. Out of my siblings, I am the second youngest of six kids which means I am lucky enough to have nieces and nephews who hopefully look up to me as a good example. I love my family. I appreciate my parents teaching me the importance of work. Either having the responsibility to irrigate our hay fields or working at my dads business helping assemble bean harvesting equipment, I soon realized that work is a part of life. Work for me, however, doesn't always have to be a drag. I like to stay busy...I enjoy feeling productive. I love the feeling of learning and mastering something. Getting an education is also important to me. I have finished one year of college at Brigham Young University and I plan on possibly pursuing a business related degree. I'm excited for the years I have ahead of me.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon...Why do I choose to live this lifestyle? First of all, I haven't had a huge manifestation or a visit from an angel telling me this is who I should be. I grew up in the church. I always knew it was something good but now as I look back, I can see just how significant being a member of this church was for me. It shaped me into the person I am today and put me on the best path there is. I can honestly say that I continue to be involved in the church because it helps me recognize who I am, as a child of God. It helps me understand how I can live a productive, happy life and ultimitely return to my Heavenly Father. There are so many paths we can take in life, and trying to do what's right is not always the easiest thing to do. I have really seen how living the principles found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has helped me overcome my weaknesses and become a better person. It's hard to describe, but I know that being involved with Christ's church has given me a clear sense of direction in life. It has given me purpose, a clearer and more enjoyable perspective.

How I live my faith

I strive to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. He wants us to serve others, better ourselves by keeping His commandments, and to be happy. Certain things have helped me increase my faith include, daily scripture study and prayer, attending church, and listening to a modern-day prophet. He exhorts us to follow Jesus Christ in today's ever changing world.
