Hi I'm Kinzie

Idaho grown, Utah State Aggie, wife, mom, dressmaker, adventurer, Mormon.

About Me

I am a girl who likes to have fun! I am always up for a new adventure. I like doing things outdoors; hiking, running, biking, skiing, swimming, rafting, wakeboarding and the occasional sky dive :) If it involves being active I like to do it. I grew up cheerleading and playing various sports like softball and basketball. Though I am not super awesome at any one, I am pretty active so I feel I can hold my own. I taught cheer camps for a few summers. I really enjoyed traveling and teaching young girls. That is one of the reasons I got a teaching degree. I like learning about the past so I majored in History. I also like to talk so I minored in Spanish in hopes that I could meet new people. I was blessed to be able to do a short study abroad in Mexico; I really loved the people there and the culture. Traveling is something I really like to do but don't get the chance to much. I also love crafts and have gotten really into sewing the last few years and have started an online dress and boat its shop. I am married to an awesome guy who is just as fun and spontaneous as me. We have two children. I am so blessed to be able to stay home with them right now and I wouldn't want it any other way. My life is a constant adventure and I am so thankful for it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it's true. I have lived its principles and prayed about them and have had it confirmed to me time and time again that this is right and that this is what the Lord would have me do. I have had no great vision or one experience that has led me to this knowledge but you don't need one. I know that God loves me, Kinzie, I know I am his daughter and that he wants whats best for me, but that he can only bless me if I follow his commandments. I feel his guidance when I pray to him and I see his hand in my life. When I follow the commandments in the scriptures and from modern day prophets I see how it blesses my life. I know the gospel strengthens my family. It brings me closer to my husband. When I study the scriptures I have renewed strength to do whats right, I feel more charitable and I know that that is what the Lord would want from us. Heavenly Father wants us to return and live with him again, that is why he sent his son. That is why Christ suffered in Gethsemene and died on the cross. But we need to do our part too. We need to follow his teachings. Yes the Lord is merciful and will forgive us of our sins. But our ultimate goal is to become like him and we can only do that by following his example. I am so grateful for the restored gospel. Not only does it give us another witness of Jesus Christ through the Book of Mormon, but the keys of the Priesthood have also been restored, so that now we have the authority to act in his name and to receive ordinances that will allow us to be with our families forever. We are so blessed because the leader of this church is Jesus Christ. President Monson is our prophet, but he is guided by the true head of the church, Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because this is not an earthly church, this is not a persons church, this is The Church of Jesus Christ. He is our leader and I trust in him to show us the way to live and I have seen in countless ways the blessings in my life.

How I live my faith

In my ward I work with the teenage girls. I love this calling because I love the girls and get to share my love for the gospel to them. It is so great to teach them and help them through their day to day struggles. I also get to visit a few other sisters in the ward. We look after each other. We get to visit and bond as well as talk about basic truths of the gospel. We also live our faith in our home daily by prayer and scripture study. It is a blessing and a strength to share these truths with our family and to invite the Spirit into our home each day.
